MerryAnne
I just googled Chinook, MerryAnne and it seems very dramatic.  Unfortunately it doesn't reach Ontario.  Enjoy your sunbathing when it comes.

JohnMcNab,
Your picture of the frozen North is very much of an ice castle, beautiful, remote, and glistening.  I agree, I love the weather here, too. Not so cold maybe, but with the mountains shining over the open water.

Blanche
I wish I knew, Blanche.  I haven't been over here long enough to say, but I must admit I love the changes in the weather.

JohnMcnab,
I just heard from a friiend today that there was freezing rain in Eugene, Oregon. What is up? The return of the Ice Age or is this a normal cycle?

MerryAnne
That would be next spring, wouldn't it, MerryAnne?  I'd prefer to use salt and get rid of it now, thank you very much.

I'm astonished John!
maybe you should move west...  if you wait long enough the Chinooks will melt the ice!

Blanche
I'll look up some synonyms today, Blanche, if I can find the time between chipping ice, shovelling snow and shivering.

JohnMcNab,
Another word for "astonish", maybe "befuddle"?  No, that's probably not quite right, but close as I can get.   This sounds like some horror movie, "Atttack of the Killer Ice".  Whew, pretty, but oh, so very cold.

Straightforward
I go to the gym three times a week, Straightforward, so that I'll be fit enough to shovel snow.

ginnie
You know I love it ginnie.  I recommend to anyone who is about to retire, that they immigrate - to Canada if they can.  They will immediately thirteen years of age again.  Sooooo  Someone I know is returning to the land of their birth, is she?  Very interesting!

It is very beautiful, BI, but it would be even more beautiful if I didn't have to drive out of the driveway.

FLIGHTPATH
I've heard about the same thing that happened in Ontario/Quebec a few years ago when the ice storm hit.  Even in the UK we saw film clips of electricity pylons collapsed under the weight.

And you still love it...right Mac? Right???
C'mon...you know you do!!!  Geez I love your stories!    Years ago I remember watching some dork shovel off the roof of his car...the blade hitting paint and slicing some of that off too!  I love Canada!  I love it so so much that I'm coming......b---.......oops....promised I'd keep that for my next post!

Johnmcnab
We had a ice storm here a few days ago but it was on the top of the snow. You've had much more snow than we have had and it sounds soooooooooooo beautiful. You need to be more careful!

Johnmcnab-Ice also falls where least expected. - Portland, Oregon, where
2 years ago, it encased the city for several days, bringing bustling activity to a roaring halt. One of the many mailmen who delivered anyway, fell down more than a dozen times.

We had that a couple of weeks ago here in MN. Glare ice under hard packed snow and now more snow on top of that.

MayB
Not in the least, MayB.  We didn't have freezing rain in Scotland.  We did have black ice at times, but it didn't fall straight out of the heavens.

I am hurt to the quick, kingmi.  Me, deserve tribulations?  Me who wouldn't harm a mosquito unless it came within swatting distance?

Good title.
I remember that movie and that beautiful scene.

Doesn't that rain make you miss your homeland?
