Welcome, Dr. JPT and Jolly Jeff!

Thanks for weighing in. Dr. JPT, live and let live works both ways. It's those who refuse to practice that towards those of us who honor and celebrate a traditional Christmas who need to take that to heart. As for the popular saying, how do you know what you can or can't change unless you at least make an effort?

Jollyjeff, wonderful! We all need to be kids at heart year-around.

Corbin, thanks for the  poem!

A lot of people have lost the true spirit of Christmas
I think the only people that have the spirit are children--and children at heart like me.

I don't know who they are
Saying I can't greet the crowd
The way that I want to
Can't say
CHRISTMAS
out loud.

I walk into a business place
See things that I rather not see
But dare I not say
CHRISTMAS
And ask for a "holiday" tree.

What happened to freedom of speech
And living in the land of the free
How can they take my CHRISTMAS money
But can't say MERRY CHRISTMAS to me.

Men and women have given their lives
So we could still go free
I wonder how they would feel
At saying "HOLIDAY" TREE.

Merry Christmas

Live and let live is a motto in which I find comfort.  In addition having found a scripture that says " for those who want to be ignorant, let them be ignorant " and a popular saying, change the things you can change, accept those you cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference!!

Have a good one!
