Bud_Oracle, there is little better than being read
That is the sole reason that I continue to post here because to have daily readers is a compelling force

Bud_Oracle
I only had to force myself because I was not well this year  and it was an effort. My mind was full of ideas but I was not fit to see them through.
Yes I am very fortunate to be paid to write but I was not handed that opportunity on a platter and others have the choice to work towards that too.

Mayb, you are wise to relate this truism........

I've just discovered that it was cramping my progress to place any value on my words beyond the fact that hopefully they get read.

Before by hording my writings rather than squandering them like a mad millionaire of words, I was not able to progress by becoming prolific.

You are very lucky to be rewarded financially for writing. But it sad for me that you have to force yourself to write more.

Perhaps that will change for me too when I begin to get paid for writing. For the moment the only motive for writing for me is the pleasure of it.

WRITING IS THE SAME PLEASURE THAT SOARING A HANG GLIDER WAS FOR ME, PERHAPS EVEN MORE EXCITING.

Blanche_Dubois, I look at it as a sign of luck too

Mayb,
Although I don't put much stock in diamonds (being a girl's best friend or otherwise) as a measure of affection or status, the fact that you won a beautiful ring right at the beginning of the year seems like a very fortuitous sign!

JohnMcNab, I was a prolific blogger and must rethink use of my time
This past year I was not too well and was unable to write all that I might have written.

Avant-garde. I think the aversion to publicity is more ironic
in my own case in that I write about others who are not averse to publicity

Smartdog_670, it is a quote to live by I think

I am aghast that you think you were not prolific this year.  As for the luck, I am a great believer in the seven year good/bad luck.  Perhaps your good one has begun and is diamond studded.

Congrats on your win. I, too, do not like publicity. It's kind of ironic, though, for me.

Majroj. I appreciate that
I spent the past day transcribing the best part of a very long interview with the manager of the band I am writing about and I can see that I will make a good story HOWEVER I am not wired in terms of conducting interviews. I am tongue-tied and hesitant. Of course it could have something to do with the fact that I was drinking at a roof party til 1am the night before. No. sadly I am not wired in an audio sense. Thank goodness for print. With that I live

Naw, you're wired.
