AAAAHHOOOOOO!!! (Or other appropriate sound of dog hunting)

FW, your dog is not only not hunting, he's fleeing the woods as fast as he can with his tail between his legs. What you descriube DeLay doing is exactly what the prosecutor in his case is on record as having done. And as for this being a Republican scandal, your man Whining Harry Reid made such a comment . . . and used it to justify his refusal to give back the tainted loot he got from Abramoff. Such is the Democrat approach to graft versus the Republican approach. Republicans return it when caught with it. Democrats keep it anyway because they're so accustomed to having it.

Corbin, the best way to reform lobbyism is to vote out the greedy bastards who are on the take from them.

kingmi,  I hadn't seen Krauthammer on this, but rest assured a lot of people feel that way.

Sorry, this dog won't hunt ...
as we say in Texas.

republicans in Congress did their damnest to render the Democrats irrelevant. Everything passed along party line vote. And Delay and Abramoff threatened corporations and campaign contributors that they would be frozen out of the corridors of power if the contributed to the opposition.. Nope, this is a Republican money scandal all the way.

Another example of how they don't get it.....we work to tighten rules regarding lobbying and they're keep chirping  about...the "Culture of Corruption".  Yet the statistics tell us that the American electorate see that both sides have a part in it.....

Welcome, enlighteningrod!

Glad to have your thoughts, and great handle!  Fact is, there is no positive spin on anyone's involvement. The only spin on this is the dishonesty of trying to make it entirely province of the other party."Something close to the truth" would have a full disclosure of the involvement of both parties, including citation of Shrillary's receiving moolah from this guy - something the lamestreamers dare not mention.

Oh, yeah, Scoop, I'm in a tizzy - over corrupt politicians and corrupt journalism alike.  And I dearly hope that anyone who was on the take from this guy pays the price for it. And so should the lamestreamers who cannot report the full story to save their biased behinds.

Soften the blow

I think it was probably announced that way for the benefit of people that still think that the media is liberal biased. They want to forwarn listeners that because of coming indictments it may be hard to put a positive spin on Republican involvement, and something close to the truth might have to be reported.

Man this has you all in a tizzy, listen there are crooks in both parties
and their are also innocent ones who probably thought the cash was good. So some in both parties may pay the piper, this has gone on for years deal with it.
