songbirdshafer, I knew a man almost 40 years ago who had an experience like that of which you speak. He was the principal of the gradeschool where my children attended. He had a heart attack at school one day. After he recovered he resigned from his position at the school and became a preacher. He is gone now but for years he told of his experience to anyone who would listen.

I find it more comforting than chilling. Life is too wrought with problems and pain, and I don't think I could take living it and thinking that's all there is...
I can't remember the name of the singer, but she sang "Is That All There Is?" It was kind of a depressing song, but it made you think.
