Thanks for reading!

Jane, glad to be of help.

Dr. J, excellent insight. That  actually happened with, I think, John Paul Stevens.

Glenn, you need to lighten up. Ever hear of metahpors? Of course football players are not actual warriors. Just love your positive, optimstic pespective on the human condition. But since you mentioned the Constitution is a living document: Do you believe that a Supreme Court justice should adhere to its original intent, or change that intent  to fit an agenda as happened in Kelo and Roe V. Wade?

FW, nothing wrong whatsoever with candor. Indeed, yours is always appreciated. The big problem is trying to badger a judge into prejudging cases. If he had said either that he would always rule in favor of or agaisnt abortion, he'd had no business being confirmed. His approach was entirely appropriate - hear each case and rule on each case on its own merits before the law, rather than on the basis of personal prejudice.

Welcome, serioushelpneeded!
Glad to have your  comments. Serious help needed, indeed! Kennedy, whom you correctly identify is much in need of it. Whether she drowned or suffocated, he still left her to die. And he dares preach ethics and morals?

old sot?
If the old sot is who I think it is, did you know that Mary jo did not drown. " She died of suffocation,"said undertaker Eugene Frieh.   The cars doors were locked.  The diver that removed her said she was " too bouyant to be full of water." Senator," piece of crap."     Clinton's buddy

WriterofLight!
What's wrong with candor, regardless of what Alito's position is. If he's AGAINST abortion, why wouldn't he say so. If he's FOR the expansion of the King's powers, so be it. But to constantly duck and dodge, well, it just makes it look as if he's either a puppet for his handlers or he has something to hide.

DrJPT,
Well said!! This man could wake up and recognize that the Constitution is a living Document! Not to be treated as a moral football!!

JanesOpinion,
This is all just "face time" for the whole bull crap process! Who really cares?? The same people will be back next week, year! Your pathetic life will not change! You will still be a slave to the corrupt process!!!!!!!!!!

Writeroflight,
From an earlier comment you are really streeching!! "Moral Greatness" that is just down right blasphemy to be applied to any member of this present human race! Words do have meaning you know! Football players are warriors, heroes, etc... are other examlpes! Why cheapen them???

Agree
Even with the process, people can change after taking the office.  We can only select, then deal with whatever comes along.

I haven't been able to watch the
"confirmation" inquisition.  Thanks for providing commentary on it.  Obviously there's NO question as to who the better, more intelligent and noble person is.

Thank you, Scoop!
Exactly the truth. They did the same to Chief Justice Roberts, Justice Thomas, and Justice-should-have-been Bork. Yet when ACLU counsel Ruth Bader Ginsberg was nominated with her radically liberal ideas, the Republicans put their obejctions aside and supported her overwhelmingly. What double standard?

I like what I see in Judge Alito and what the Demos have
put him and his family through is just criminal. I think he will do the job by applying the law and up holding the Constitution
