lily,
Go ahead. Maybe if we attack from two fronts we can get something to sink in. I like a blog that fits neatly upon one screen. More is OK, but then you should break it up with headers or something for one page segments. When I run into a blog with a single, dump the garbage, paragraph as a lead, and that alone takes up a page or more, I click out of there so quick that my mouse doesn't even have time to squeak.

Nana,
Thank you. You are right about quieter, I'm sure. I have never been on one of the Japanese V twins. I'm sure they have the power, and I assume that they probably have gone to a wet plate clutch for machines that size.
As far as quiet, I'm afraid one of my addictions, to both cars and bikes, is in the sound of the engine. When I was a mechanic I used to work on Porches and Mercedes. One of our customers had a Mecedes 300-SEL. When I finished tuning it, I would take it for about a one hour test drive. putting my foot in it gave me goose bumps. People half a block away would turn to see what was coming; it roared like a locomotive. Then there was my Austin Healy 3000-MK3; I don't know how many Porsches I've put a foot to, some of them race modified. I'll never be cured of my passion for the sound of a fine engine winding out. The louder the better. The Japanese do make some music engines, both for cars and bikes.

thanks for visiting my blog-- About your Harley comments, I bought my Suzuki because it's quieter and more powerful than the comparable- size Harley. The clutch is also easier. Go sit on one of these if you are thinking of getting back into riding!
