Yes its fair , and it tells you that some of us come to read you for no other reason but that we want to regardless. SOmetimes people do things without expectation of return. I read who I enjoy reading, and write when i feel moved to.

Once you've paid it's your choice what you do.
Look at it this way, if you only click once a month somebody is in for a nice surprise.

Quirkyalone
Periodically I feel much the same way as you express here.  I have been going through a period of this the last few days.  I thought maybe it was early Spring fever.   I have cleared out some blogs and some posts and am tempted to clear it all away.  I am having to force myself to read and comment and after just a few, I go away.   Since my renewal is next month, I have been thinking of moving on.   But, I know that at some point I will have a renewal of interest and wish I had stayed.

Keep on posting. I'll keep on reading.

Don't feel guilty - there's nothing that says you have to read me or anyone else, for that matter. If you don't feel like reading other people's stuff, that's your business.

Quirks

I thought this was supposed to be for the writer to write?

Reading and commenting was supposed to be sold to others... psssst...just click on my blog...I won't tell anyone I got your clicks...

Post away...You're on my favorites...I don't need you to read me...
I find joy in writing and I write for me.   Don't feel guilty about not reading...If your heart isn't in it, you'll only be half reading...I try to read about 1/2hr each day....I give myself a limit so, I don't get burned out...

I know that you will choose what is best for you, and I fully support that decision - whatever it might be.  Everyone who joins blogit does so for their own reasons...each one is valid - which INCLUDES yours.  Don't worry about what others might think, feel, say, or do.  Let them worry about themselves.  You do what's best for you.  Just know that there are many (including me) who don't care who or what posts you read or don't read - what matters is You, the person.

For most of my subscription on blogit, I have just dropped in a few times
written a few posts, and it was understandable because I spent the whole of last year getting married and then settling down....if you drop in on blogit once a while, or post regularly but do not comment on others so much, it is still ok....the community gets to read you and you enjoy your friends, and reading posts.....it is all a good bargain, I think...and who knows you might feel inclined to dive right back into this with all your might one of these days! meringue

Quirky,

Situations change. I hate to see you go completely, but I understand wanting to move on. And you have been busy with your other stuff. My suggestion is just keep your account open for awhile and when you feel the need to just check in then you can. Know you are a golden prize. love Shadow

you can only do what you can do.
Profound, don't you think?   Hang in there.

As long as you pay the cover
you can hang around as long as you'd like.  Although you don't really see it, just clicking on others' blogs is being a part of the community.  They get part of your subscription fee whether you leave a comment or not.  So g'head...be invisibile.

Hi Quirky
I don't think any guilt feelings are necessary for these situations.  There are just times when life barges in on blogging and blogging has to take a back seat.  Sooner or later, it's necessary to post less and comment less.  Also, going through periods of posting and but not commenting much isn't a discourtesy to anybody, I don't feel.  I know the read-for-a-click thing happens here, but many read for the pleasure, too, not expecting a click in return.  It's all just the ebb and flow of  Blogit.  ~

When I took a break last time
I didn't cancel knowing I would never come back at the new rates.  I just didn't hang out much and then came back when I was ready.  You know you can come and go as you please and we will still be around looking to read you.

All's fair in blogging and love Quirky ;)
Many of us here have similar moods of disconnect and do understand. No taking it personally from this end - I'm glad you're not leaving completely.

I'm the same way right now, although my excuse is
that I'm busy writing elsewhere.  I'm not sure what the answer is.
