I have come across the odd academic who writes well --it's so odd I remember them

Azur--- I find few things more unappetizing than academic writing.
That's why I'm not working at a university. As part of what I do now, I translate academic garble and interviews with academics into coherent magazine articles. Most of these people mean well and are doing some interesting research, but they have no idea how to communicate the significance of their work to "real people."

I think you do not really need to bother much. Being very resourceful as you are, you will certainly do very well. God Bless

We do choose our own "crackers." ... Can I say "crackers" since I am, in fact white?

I'm so glad I don't have to write in an academic style anymore...
I think it's pointless. It's no one's natural voice, so why don't all 'academics' just stop pretending.
As for a Phd in blogging - I'm sure it's only a matter of time!

I think if a paper's title has a colon, it should be cut 50% credit.
Academic toadying and lead-following.

I have something of the same problem...

I am able to blog, as it were or write poetry and the like, all day, but when I think about writing say, an article about parenting or marriage, I draw a blank. Isn't writing, just writing after all?
