JanesO, When I first saw this I thought of Mao rationalizing the "Cultural
Revolution" to his subordinates.  Yes he did this, and christened the new revolution by diving into the Ghanges River and swimming across it.  Or whatever river that is.  Can't recall.

But did Mao really let that happen?  Did he allow a hundred schools of thought?  That seems a direct antithesis to the control which Communists use. 

What say you?
