One time, my boyfriend and I spent over an hour debating whether...
Mayor McCheese (the "McDonald's" character) had, in essence, "sold his soul" by "looking the other way" while so many of his kinfolk were being devoured, just so he could maintain a political office that (judging by the commercials) seems largely ceremonial to begin with.
Now, that was a pointless argument. Not sure what it has to do with Tolkien, however.
