Oh, don't!!

The couple that we had lunch with, both in their early sixties, look after their two grandchildren full time ; seven and ten. Phew!

grandchildren are God's reward for not killing their parents.

Don't forget Ariel, the Bible teaches that you can still bear fruit
in your old age!

Thank you for your comment.

Oh, if only!!

We live about 15 miles inland from Torre del Mar ( Tower of the Sea ) and on my rare visits to the costa. I look east towards the Libyan Sea, where the bones of my dead sailor brother lie, and my thoughts are roughly those in your poem.

It is a measure of our arrested development, and our barbarism, that the most beautiful places on earth tend to have the most blood soaked histories and presents ; vide Uganda, The Congo, Indonesia, and one could go on.

It is as if within us all is a destructive chinld, who must wilfully vandalise all about him ; and kill as many other children as possible.

I liked your poem a lot, but, as a strictly personal, subjective opinion, may I say would not have written it in that fashion. I would not of course presume unasked to criticise another's work, nor to offer sugestions as to how it might be better.

And of course, I ought to say critique, not criticise, for that I would never do. I think that we in here ought to offer reasoned critiques more often.

What do you think?
