Nanaroo,
I've worked for years on finding a balance between head, heart and body.  I used to live so totally in my head, I was disconnected.  Now, I make it a point to check in with my body to see what's going on, and take it out for a walk.

I live in my head
and I saty there a good deal of the time because it is comfortable however others find fault with where I live. I remember when my children were young they used to grab a hold of my face and yell,  'mom, you get out of your head now.!!!!!! Poor dears, they'd see me fading and try to save me from completely disapearing.

nanaroo, I'm definitelly in my head. Even when I'm swimming, which is my exercise, or when I'm walking, I'm still in my head.

That line drawing is exquisite, by the way.

Totally..
to the point where the gynocologist has to say to me, as my legs are up in the stirrups, "Why don't you use some lotion?  Your legs are flaking."  Sadly, my sons have inherited this.  We took the big one to play soccer.  He sat on the dirt and drew pictures with a stick.  Maybe it's a genetic  predisposition?

I sure wish I could get addicted to working out... how does that happen?

Nanaroo
I have alternated so long, that if I'm deprived of either I become very restless and angst ridden.

I love this post!

I SO totally live in my head, although I am addicted to working out.  I just live in my head when I'm working out, lol!!!

RockyMt and ginnieb
thanks for the comments!  I was worried that everyone would think this was a stupid post but I really wanted to post it anyway and now I'm glad I did.  I'm always looking for balance too- and yesterday, I did actually go to the gym...

Nan....
Excellent post!  I need to find some balance, I find myself putting off things so I can visit with my friends on blogit.  And as I sit here I thank God this isn't video blogging.  I am still in pajamas, no makeup, uh, let's just say it's not a pretty sight! LOL

I hear ya loud and clear Nanaroo!!
I'm working on achieving a balance...it ain't easy but I'm guessing we'd all feel so much better if/when we find it!

I think I have a good mix of living out loud and living in my head-
When I'm deployed I'm out on the streets living dangerously. When I'm home I'm a computer geek, staying here most of the time, writing or blogging.

It's All In My
Head!  I exercise to stay healthy and to be able to keep up with the kids.  But, my true existance is in my head.  I'm a "muller."  I think and sometimes overthink, and then think some more!

Nanaroo:

Like a ping pong ball throughout the day.  My husband is very into body building, my son a high school athlete.  Me?  I get plenty of exercise, but the cerebral is my thing.  Nice post.
