Why, thank you, Glenn!
Glad to see that I'm doing so well. Nice try concerning Reagan and "Bush I," but you're wrong. Try Jimmy Carter - it was his zeal to see the Shah of Iran overthrown that set the stage for the mad mullahs to take over the country and crate the threat we now face.

WriterofLight,

You are gooood! Damn good! You know well that this man is in complete violation of his "oath" to the American People and the Constitution! Stop with Clinton! Reagan and Bush I had 12 years to sow the seeds for the first terrorist attack on America! Or did you forget that "real" fact!

I cannot wait until the day that your leaders and you too will have to personally take up arms to defend yourselves! When you run out of people who will protect your ass! That day is fast approaching, look your enemy in the eye and pull the trigger! Will you pass the test?

Thanks for commenting!

Glenn, thanks for referencing the President's remarks. Here's a link to his statement just before the storm: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/08/20050828-1.html I take note of the remark, "Yesterday, I signed a disaster declaration for the state of Louisiana, and this morning I signed a disaster declaration for the state of Mississippi. These declarations will allow federal agencies to coordinate all disaster relief efforts with state and local officials." Does it occur to you or any of the other Bush-haters that just maybe the state and local officials and the federal bureaucrats have some complicity in the failures of the relief efforts? I read this as the orders were given, but not followed.

Professor, thank you, my friend, for proving my point about liberal priorities. Quoting my last paragraph: "And I will eat this keyboard with horseradish and tabasco sauce if the liberal response to this story fails to be another round of "Bush lied! Bush is incompetent! Impeach Bush"! I will double the horseradish and tabasco sauce if they instead choose to offer constructive plans for preparedness for future storms. But the modern liberal does not plan for disaster; s/he instead blames others for it." Hating someone is more important than solving a decades-old problem.

As for whose lies cost lives, consider the lives lost because Bubba was distracted by his dalliances with an intern and then lying about it instead of taking appropriate action to prevent another terrorist attack on our soil. (You will recall that the first WTC attack happened on his watch.)

Blanche, those tax cuts are giving your money back to you.

Corbin, in fairness a lot of people had no way of evacuating themselves. Which makes Governor Blank-O’s and Mayor Negligent’s inaction in evacuating those who could not evacuate themselves all the more scandalous.

Glenn (again), the job of the president is this: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Read your Constitution to see what executing the office entails.

I think they, relied to heavy on this statement;
"I want to assure the folks at the state level that we are fully prepared to not only help you during the storm, but we will move in whatever resources and assets we have at our disposal after the storm,"-President Bush.

Corbin Dallas,
What is the "Job" of the President of the United States of America? You answer that question and you can come away an enlightened man! Leaving your insipience behind!

Corbin, great comments.
Writer, thanks for your balanced perspective on this.  I really should stop being amazed and appalled at the hatred amongst liberals for Bush.  Like you said, it is nearly impossible to move that number of people in less than a week's time to safety.  And what the hell were Blanco and Nagin doing all that time -- wringing their hands? Blaming Bush?  It would seem that's about all they could muster. I hold them responsible for the lion's share of incompetence.

Suppose Mr. President had said we were not prepared for this magnitude storm? Suppose he had said the time was a factor?

Suppose the people had gotten up off their fat asses and left....instead of waiting for a taxi to come by and pick them up.......give me a break...

Why is it the people of Mississippi aren't still whining about this....because the accept what has happened and are rebuilding their lives instead of looking at room service menus in hotels.......

We're trying to givre you back your tax money...but your Liberals buddies are fighting us tooth and nail......

WriterofLight,
Well, if the jjob of the modern liberal is to offer constructive plans for preparedness, then let the government give back my tax money. What do we pay these people for?

Spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnning

You can spin this all you want. You can blame the people of Louisiana, Mississsippi & Alabama.  You can blame the Governors, the Mayors, the Corps of Engineers, global warning or even Bill Clinton (your favorite).

But the truth of the matter is:  your president got on national tv several times AND LIED HIS ASS OFF!!! Don't dismiss it as hatred, hysteria, partisanship.  You have the president saying  in defense of his administration:

Bush declared four days after the storm: “I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees” that gushed deadly flood waters into New Orleans. But the transcripts and video show there was plenty of talk about that possibility – and Bush was worried too.

And yet you have VIDEO EVIDENCE that he knew this. It doesn't matter that the evidence was 6 months old, or that it was leaked (probably by Brownie, who has been thrown under the bus).  YOUR PRESIDENT LIED TO YOU!!! No "equivocating" no "we relied on the intelligence we had" no "everybody thought Saddam had wmd's".

He said he didn't know the storm would be that bad, and no one could have predicted the levees would breach.  Yet you see it right there on the tape!!! Open your eyes, SHEEPLE!!! This president doesn't deserve your support. You are acting like co-dependents in an abusive marriage.

Those who support Bush should be more disappointed than his critics. They thought he was a good, compassionate Christian.  He turns out to be a liar just like Clinton; only his lies cost people lives.

WriterofLight,
Suppose Mr. President had said we were not prepared for this magnitude storm? Suppose he had said the time was a factor?  Suppose he had said we could not mobilize our forces as quickly as required to save New Orleans? He made no such sane utterance! That any humanbeing would have understood! You be the judge of what he did say! And pray that no such colamity falls on you or your white friends from your safe perch!
