It's more what wasn't said.
I'll post about it tomorrow, because I actually have a long list of complaints about the show (of which, this was only the biggest) and, if I wrote it up now (at 2 AM) I'd almost certainly leave stuff out.

No, fourcats...
though, I was unimpressed with Stewart for other reasons. There's really nothing anyone could ever say, that would offend me.
However, the Academy made (what I believe was) an egregious error in judgement, that was totally inexplicable. And, completely tasteless.

i couldn't help but notice
the sentiment on the part of the men. carrying stuffed penguins, dressing their oscars in matching bowties. tears being shed. i thought it showed lovely progress in personal expression.
i'm wracking my brain trying to decide what may have offended you. i missed some of the show due to vacuuming so maybe i missed it. by any chance was it something jon stewart said?

Yes, I did watch, Aaron ...
And, there were just enough "highlights" to qualify the 3+ hours as "time well spent".
Sadly, however, there were far more "lowlights" (in terms of the actual presentation). Including something extremely disturbing to me (which I haven't heard anyone else mention, yet).
Oh well, at least it'll give me something good to talk about tomorrow morning.

You're actually going to watch?
I'd rather watch an entire episode of "Little House on the (sleepy) Prairie" than watch this year's Oscars. Their ratings will make the Olympics look like a smash hit.

I would hardly call the "Cheese Impresario" junk, Jack.
Okay, all clicks will be reciprocated upon my return (following the Oscars). Or, I should say, "all comments" will be reciprocated ... seeing as, I'm not a psychic.

MP,
I know, I know. You're right, as usual. I just like to be a smartass. To paraphrase Quirky's paraphrase of Renny Descartes, ''I'm a smartass, therefore I am.''
So when can I get my baggy of junk? I prominse to give the edibles out to the poor.
Now? Now?? Hurry up!!!

I love nature too, Gulliver...
though
moreso when it's contained in a deeper, more complex film like "Grizzly Man".

there are actually people starving and living on the streets only a few miles (maybe even,

It probibly didn't belong in a Theatre. It was just facinating for me to watch, but then I'm a huge nature lover.

I actually have a whole list of ways to improve the "Blog It' experience...
but, I'd prefer to avoid becoming "one of those people".
I think all my posts are pretty good, actually. For instance, people seemed to enjoy the "Bird Flu" one, and all that was, was an excerpt from my "real life" journal. So, you see, I'm a natural.

I think this is your best post yet, MPO, at least in the "non-artistic"
category.
I agree about your feeling that you sometimes want to take your click back after reading something but each click is worth very little, by itself, so it's not worth it for Blogit to invest in such an idea, even if it were possible to do. On the other hand, the blogger that got your click SHOULD probably get a half-penny or so for their headline, which is probably what hooked you in the first place, even if it were a "bait-and-switch" gambit.

I remember everyone made a big deal about their "Chronicles of Narnia" rap video, several months ago ... but, when I finally saw it, it didn't do anything for me.

I was not a huge fan of that movie, Ann...
as I wrote, it would have made an excellent "Discovery Channel" special, but it certainly wasn't worthy of a theatrical release.

It's only for the presenters and performers, Jack...
Also, in the Academy's defense, most of the stars typically charge
more than that for an appearance fee (if they are even willing to "appear", at all).

So, MPO...
If I go to the awards ceremony do I get a baggy of junk? Or do I have to be Rich and Famous ? Crap, if I was that I wouldn't bother to go anyway. What's the matter with those people? Did they OD on E.T.? I think I'm going to go down and plaster the place with Big Macs and simulated Kangaroo blood by Duncan Heinz.
Did you see the Punk Rap Harvard Grad girl on SNL? I'm going to put together a Punk Rap video myself. I'll tell ya now, it's going to scare some people big time.
Sorry. I'm pissy again.

No,no, I keep getting tarred and feathered for going to the extreme left..
I would merely like say, Jonas Salk, to get a Doggie Day Care gift bag, rather than Tom Cruise, who has some very outre opinions on the subject of mental health care, when,as I understand Scientology, which consists of worshipping the spirits of dead aliens, his own is a little shaky.

Then we all need to embrace communism, then.
Cause, that's the only way I see, that a doctor or a teacher could make as much money as, say, Tom Cruise.
