we almost have the same wishes, kingmi. I wouldn't be into the walking part unless I was carrying a bottle of beer.

I have to agree with you malcolm. Down in the deep south the weather will be beautiful. We were over in suburbialand two years ago and were amazed at the roses still being out. We traveled up to Bonnie Scotia where it froze my appendages off.

damp and miserable in the UK?
surely not? OK then, yes it often is, but a beautiful spring day today; just been for a walk in Green Park here in central London to see if the bulbs are through - they are but keeping their faces hidden at the moment.

I'll start digging the canal to channel the water south first thing tomorrow, Krisles. I remember visiting Texas when my daughter lived there. The heat was a revelation to me, coming straight from the UK

The weather is like being back in the UK, BrightIrish. It is damp and miserable and I've just taken a pain killer for my sore throat and shivers. Take care of yourself, BI.

It is wonderful to see grass again, ginnie, even if it is brown and smells. The Americans didn't keep me long, but what with an looking after an 11 year old grandson I didn't get any writing done. (good excuse, eh?)

Well, I sat in a river wearing shorts today....and I'm now sitting with my French doors open, ceiling fan whirring....about to go out on the deck and bay at the moon....we've barely had a winter...but the Mesquite hasn't budded out, and that means we'll have some cold weather yet, so maybe I'll get to wear a coat....as for rain, please send us some....all the tanks are dry and the new calves, colts and spotted fawns need something to drink!

We are supposed to be having a thunderstorm in a couple of days, Blanche. I noticed in one of your posts that you mentioned a floating bridge (what I would have called a 'pontoon' a million years ago), and I meant to look it up, but forgot. I will now.

JohnMcNab,
A twenty degree temperature change overnight? Ach! No wonder you're sweltering. We had a good old fashioned thunderstorm the other night here in Seattle, the winds kicked up so much that the city engineers shut down the floating bridge across Lake Washington, and the flowering trees lost a lot of their flowers.
Much fun with the frozen dog poop, eh? Well, happy traveling.
