- Go to Just Like Old Times: Bubba Tries to Change Story About Port Services Deal
Thanks for commenting, xenox!
"people who label themselves as good??? -- I have to doubt from the outset." Well - I wonder what you have to say about the self-proclaimed Voice of Moderation, Senator Feingold? (See today's post for details.)
To reiterate what I've written elsewhere: Ports are not controlled by stevedore contractors. See http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/display?content=5437 for more information.
The "purist" approach applies to anyone who is demanding cessation or outlawing of foreign ownership of various business activities in the US. You're absolutely right, taken to its logical conclusion it would cause massive disruption. But you misread me. I remain neutral on the issue. I have only been criticizing the absolutely screwy manner in which people have reacted to it.

Yikes! Glenn says I'm right about something!
"And you are right, Democrats are nothing but Republicans on the 'bottom' fighting to get on top!"
Unfortunately, that's not a claim I ever made. They are indeed "fighting to get on top," but other than some of them sharing a love for lobbyist bucks the similarities tend to stop there.

was it 60 minutes? another nes story -- most of the U.S. ports are controlled by foreign countries, including Dubai -- a very large percentage of the transportation system .
If we're going to be purists, as you seem to suggest, then we'll have to disrupt tens of trillions of dollars of commerce here.
but you're like all the conservatives I've met and heard speak and read -- about as unrealistic as a passenger lounging in a deck chair on the Titanic as it sinks (if you know what I mean).
