Okay!

I think I got around to everyone.

I will now be attempting to upload some interesting photos (very shortly).  Unfortunately, however, I am barely "computer functional" ... and that's when I'm sober.

Very true, scriber ...

it's like that great scene in "Goodfellas":

Tommy DeVito:  You mean, let me understand this, cause ya know maybe it's me.  I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how?  I mean funny like I'm a clown?  I amuse you?  I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you?  What do you mean funny, funny how?  How am I funny?

Henry Hill:  Just... you know, how you tell the story ... what?

Tommy DeVito:  No, no, I don't know ... you said it.  How do I know?  You said I'm funny.  How the fuck am I funny?  What the fuck is so funny about me?  Tell me, tell me what's funny!

ha. I would not try to guess; too many likely choices. I know how
sensitive bloggers are. A simple "good morning" can get u killed in print. "Huh, what u talking 'bout.  You think I don't know it's a good morning."

Thank you, TAPS- ...

I'm glad to hear that.

I honestly never say anything with that specific intention.

I'm a little confused by your comment, OFFBEATS ...
Though please forgive me, I just got home and I'm a little "backlogged" (unrelated email-wise).

Perhaps so, Billy ...

However, I'm not really much of a "dog person" ... or a "truck person" for that matter.

As to your other point, I have found the one thing that irritates ignorant people the most is having their feelings casually dismissed or (even worse) ignored completely.

Thus, that's what I tend to do when such issues arise.

Okay, PassionFlower ...
thanks for sharing.

I figured as much, scriber ...
either that, or you were trying to guess the "mystery blogger".

Thank you so much, Black Pearl ...
I remember one time, a professor told me a piece I wrote was "very well written", so I replied, "Naturally, seeing as I'm a well writer."

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 9:50 PM | link to this | reply

my comment for some reason had the blogger's name in it. who
know the mysteries of computers?  But u should have been able to figure out the comment as it applied to u.

I appreciate the words of encouragement, David.
Is that line from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", btw?

I think (overall) I have a pretty good winning percentage, Ben.

Thank you, Layla ...
and that's good to know, seeing as I likely never will (sincerely) apologize to anyone.

Sorry, Sassyass. I don't believe in calling people out ...
nor do I believe in giving them "free advertising".

M.P.O.
You are no different than quite a few young people that I know.   Age will help a little.    By the way, you have not hurt my feelings and I find you interesting.

posted by TAPS. on March 23, 2006 at 7:46 PM | link to this | reply

M.P.O. - they think your comments are crass but they're snot - People
should be jealous of your talent and not your pretty smile.  Or maybe they should be most jealous of your detatchment from the opinion of others.  I will say cycnicism and cleverness wears thin at an older age when...you may have liitle more than a truck and a dog to show for your life.

posted by FreeManWalking on March 23, 2006 at 7:29 PM | link to this | reply

M.P.O., I have no idea who you are talking about, but I am sure that

you have hurt many peoples' feelings here on "Blogit!". You speak thoughtlessly at times and callously on a normal basis. For me at least, this habit has over shadowed the talent of your writing.

I personally think you're immature and callous,
But nobody's perfect--we all have flaws, so I rarely throw stones at people. I'm sure you'll grow into a mature, caring person someday...or not.

M.P.O,
You do write well.  And I've really liked your posts because the really make me think, and good for a smile.  Keep up the good work.  :)

While I agree with you right to vent
I still say that you should tell us who it is so that we can have an old fashioned witch hunt!

Oh, how nice ... the "inside comment" that no one here (except you or I ) could possibly understand ...

And no, she probably would not.

Excuse me, but did you mention that you were MATURE?

Does your brother's girlfriend share this view?

posted by Gubby on March 23, 2006 at 11:30 AM | link to this | reply

That's what I say, FoF!

That "food fight" emoticon is awfully "elaborate"; it's like a short film or something.

Excellent policy, gypsyredhead.
I've used somewhat similar responses in the past, though not quite as politely worded.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 10:20 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you so much, Strat.
That's very sweet of you to say.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 10:18 AM | link to this | reply

LOL... I guess that's one way to put someone in their place!
I had someone email me to apologize for saying something nasty about me. I told this person that in order for their comments to hurt me I'd have had to give a damn what they thought. Since I didn't care, no apology was necessary.

posted by RedHeadedGypsy on March 23, 2006 at 10:13 AM | link to this | reply

You know you got game on whoever it is.
Don't sweat it. Just continue to be a class act.

Besides that, you write so damn good!

Take care!

Congrats, you're right on the chameleon who has smile lines. :-) I've clicked here 3 times. Thanks.

MPO, some people never learn to separate the objective, as Jackflash wrote.
He is exactly right.  What we are doing here, all of us, is important for our own personal as well as professional development.  What we learn usually will make us mad at first.  But if we can catch it, we can continue without pissing everybody off.  Staying objective!  He's definitely correct about that.  Vital.

posted by kingmi on March 23, 2006 at 1:20 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you, Kingmi, I really appreciate you saying that.

Although, my maturity is a very recently acquired attribute ... trust me.

I credit Blogit (to some extent) for my improvement, because in "real life" I pretty much  interact exclusively with people just like me.  So even the potential for conflict is rather limited.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 1:12 AM | link to this | reply

Actually, Jack ...

I might have just been using "her" in the generic sense.

Of course, either way, you know it's not you.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 1:06 AM | link to this | reply

MP,
I'm curious about of whom you speak.  Tell me sometime, if you feel like it.  I would like to figure out more.  If you would rather not, I can understand that.

posted by Jack_Flash on March 23, 2006 at 1:05 AM | link to this | reply

MPO, I agree that you have many good points, namely you are a strong writer
And I admire your ability to hold your fire.  Very good maturity there.

posted by kingmi on March 23, 2006 at 12:55 AM | link to this | reply

mpo,
At least it's a her.  That let's me off the hook.  Unless you think I'm her.  As far as the psychology of it all, it's too easy to see, so I won't go into it.  Some comments here touched on it, some missed by a mile.  The biggest fun of Blogit is watching minds at work.  Separating subjective from objective is where people fall on their faces, no matter where they are.

posted by Jack_Flash on March 23, 2006 at 12:55 AM | link to this | reply

you're so funny, M.P.O.
you're forever knocking yourself when in fact you have lots of good points.  but maybe it's a subconscious way to get the rest of us to openly admire your talents and heaven forbid you get a swelled head, so i'll just let it go at that!

posted by fourcats on March 23, 2006 at 12:29 AM | link to this | reply

Also, I should mention ...

that the only reason I posted this is that I have no interest in getting into some sort of prolonged "email battle".

This person can simply "speak" to me here ... or just let it die.  (Cause, I certainly won't be bringing it up again.)

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 12:12 AM | link to this | reply

Maybe so, fourcats ...

it's really weird, though.

Plus, in all seriousness, I don't see myself as exemplifying anything.  Other than perhaps youth.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 23, 2006 at 12:08 AM | link to this | reply

quite true that you're probably everything
she isn't.  but my experience has shown me that it's more likely she hates herself for the lack, not you for the having.  it's just human nature to direct the anger toward the one that exemplifies what we wish for.

posted by fourcats on March 22, 2006 at 11:34 PM | link to this | reply

It's funny ...

I was actually banned three times (from the same writer's forum) for just completely eviscerating people.

Of course, I've matured a lot since then (last December).
