Yeah, I do find it interesting, possibly being related to John Dillinger's right hand man and best friend, but it's a dubious honor.

I keep thinking what a waste Van Meter's life was; he blew it here on earth, and for all eternity.  It's easy enough to make mistakes in our lives without purposely ruining the chance to live right and do right while we can.

You know what they say... We can't pick our relatives.  But at least you have some interesting stories to tell about the ones you may or may not be related to.  :)

Isn't it though?  I'm keeping a bit of a sense of humor about it.  It is rather unsettling.

Fortunately, I turned out better than that.  I haven't robbed, killed, or kidnapped anybody, and I have no plans to do so.
