You don't own a TV, Mysteria?!
That's strange.
I don't know how you can survive. In this house, you can't walk ten feet without encountering one.

Most Marvelous Madame...
It is things like these that remind me how happy i am to be free of a TV in my home... I am sheltered from most media but not all of it... I guess I need a little but TV can disappear for ever none to soon for me....

Blanche ...
~ Yes, the commercials do exist.
~ Morgan Spurlock was forcibly ejected from a middle-school classroom (here in Philly) today, after he repeatedly used profanity plus made insensitive jokes about mentally handicapped McDonald's employees.
~ "Thank You For Smoking" is the second best movie I've seen so far this year (behind only "Bubble").

All excellent reasons, Xeno-X ...
the only places I regularly visit are "T.G.I. Friday's" and "Ruby Tuesday's" (and that's mostly for takeout).

MPO,
This commercial actually exists or are you toying with us? The documentary "Supersixe Me" cured me of fast food (almost), with a couple of exceptions. All I have to do is think of Morgan Spurlock horking out the side of his car after a Mickey D's burger and I lose my appetite for a burger.
I can't wait to see "Thank You For Smoking", to feel really superior to tobacco smokers and the tobacco lobbyists.

- i avoid fast food places as much as possible in favor of sit down restaurants -- you relax much more and in the small individually owned establishments you can strike up a relationship with the owner and waitresses -- just get to know them -- and then the waitresses make more money there from tips -- kids at fast food places make just minimum wage.
- burger king has been notorious for lousy commercials.
- besides we're filling our bodies with cholesterol and flat tasting food when we could eat a lot better elsewhere
- so don't complain if you're so stupid as to eat at a fast food place all the time.

I have to eat at B.K. because it is the nearest fast food at my place. I won't travel out just for a meal on an ordinary, non-occasion day.
Congrats, you're spot on with the Bloggers Faces.

M-I wouldn't let overpaid advertising agencies sway me for or against;
Probably the most consistently odd advertising among fast foods is Taco Bell. Those head for the border ads were classic in their stupidity. lol. But for a character that creates instant dislike, the King is right up there with the worst.

Very scary. And I thought the homoerotic references
when the King reaches under the football player's ball to get that snap was revolting. This tops it!

Well, this is why I won't ever eat there again
and haven't since 1994...
I had a co worker briefly once... the sort of person whom, on the first day of work, explains her life story including meeting her (now divorced-off) husband, on a nude beach, when he was wearing an eyepatch. It got worse from there but I guess I've blocked it out.
She had kept her night job at Burger King, which she constantly pronounced,
Booger King.

I hated that King initially, Scriber ...
however, after seeing him running back an interception 10,000 times (during Eagles' games) he started to sorta grow on me.
But, I don't care how many times I'm subjected to the "Whopper household" ... no way my opinion will ever change on that.

The ad sounds horrendously delicious. Haven't eaten there for years,
but I might reward their stupendously stupid advertising by having their instant grease next time instead of the McDonald's variety. The 'Eat More Chickin' ad is inspired too.

The only shows I really watch (regularly), Gulliver, are:
24
ATHF
Crank Yankers
Seinfeld reruns
Sons and Daughters (a new show on ABC which I love)
Survivor: Exile Island (not Afghanistan)
Oh, and I used to watch "Arrested Development" (before it was canceled)

We have one pretty cool ad here, Symphony
it's a billboard on the expressway (for Chick-Fil-A) showing two three dimensional cows spray painting a "beef council" sign to instead read "Eat more
chickin".

Yeah, Rcky, I would have figured...
you wouldn't be spending much time at Burger King (having read your new nutrition blog).
However, those who do regularly visit burger joints should probably check out the documentary "Super Size Me" ... it's a little slanted (and leaves out a few obvious questions) but is nonetheless highly informative.

I recently got rid of my cable because it was a waste of money
I will not miss 24, as you know and once in awhile I'll watch a Law and Order or CSI, but I purchase the seasons of South Park, Highlander, and shows that I love and watch them on my own time. Of course by the time Football season kicks off, I'll upgrade and make sure I have ESPN. I can't miss my Cowboys! Other than that, what am I really missing on TV? American Idol? Survivor
Afghanistan? (Dodge the falling bombs edition) Come on. This way, I control my entertainment. It does not control me. (Except for 24...That show has me by the...ummm...kneecaps)

That might be a little more information than I needed to know, Prof.
I don't eat fast food very often, but based on my limited experience, I actually consider Burger King to be the best. Though McDonald's has superior french fries.
~ The children's photos will resume this coming weekend. I had some kinks I needed to work out first (in terms of hosting the photos) plus another creature has joined the family, so that's what lead to the delay.
