Sure they were, FoF.

I didn't M.
You said something about "before the painkillers kicked in..." Those are the drugs I meant

Thanks for saying so, Silly ...
and I'll be fine (in a month or so).

It was incredibly painful, Ariala ...

I'll explain everything tomorrow, Layla.

You're actually close (to the truth), Jomei ...

but, not quite.

In fact, I wasn't actually injured by the blender, but in the aftermath.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 9:50 PM | link to this | reply

Why do you assume it's "drug related", FoF?
Cause, it actually isn't ... at least, not on my part.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 9:48 PM | link to this | reply

Very shortly, brettnik ...
It's kind of a complicated story.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 9:46 PM | link to this | reply

It's cool, Ben ... I'll survive.
And on the plus side, my injury lightens my schedule up a bit (schoolwork-wise).

Wow! Nothing's safe thesedays..... that'll teach you to make those
nitroglycerin smoothies, eh??

Don't be a nut...you don't have to worry about
clicks if you are recuperating.  Besides if you are all druggedup, who knows what you will say.... I have seen what you say _normally_... Feel better!

Always leave 'em wanting more...details, please!!!! Get well!!

I'm sorry to read about this. Get well soon.

That's a good question, Jazwolf ...
I believe it's currently "resting comfortably".

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:57 AM | link to this | reply

MPO--- "Circumstances" always are at the heart of the matter. And, hey,
nobody's asked: Could the blender be saved?

posted by Jazwolf on March 30, 2006 at 10:53 AM | link to this | reply

No, it certainly is not, Uncle Dave ...
however, on the plus side, the circumstances leading up to it should make for a pretty interesting post.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:31 AM | link to this | reply

I really appreciate you saying that, Nanaroo.

People needn't go overboard with their concern, however.

Although, they can if they want to.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:29 AM | link to this | reply

Curiously, Blanche ...
it was my second quasi-significant "medical issue" in three days, after not having any in the past three years.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:27 AM | link to this | reply

MPO, get well soon. The A&E is not a nice place to visit.

M.P.O.
OMG- hope you are OK!

posted by Nanaroo on March 30, 2006 at 10:23 AM | link to this | reply

MPO,
I hope all your appendages are intact..and that the visit to the ER wasn't too strenuous. They are SUCH fun.

A couple quick asides:

1. I will elaborate on what happened (exactly) in my next post.  I'm sorry I had to be so vague last night, however, it probably would have been impossible to do the story it's full justice (in my shaken condition), anyway.

2. I will attempt to reciprocate clicks and leave comments now ... but be warned, the process will likely be very slow today (for obvious reasons ... at least, to me).

Oh, don't worry, Schatz, you will.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:03 AM | link to this | reply

All should be explained (hopefully) in my next post, curator ...
and I much appreciate the well wishes.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:01 AM | link to this | reply

That's an important lesson to learn, Aaron ...
though not quite applicable in this case.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM | link to this | reply

Actually, FoF, I may be under-exaggerating the extent of the injury ...

or then again, perhaps not.

Thank you, steeler fan.

I'm sure the card was really cute, fourcats ...
(besides, it's the thought that counts) ... fortunately though, what actually happened is (not quite) so gruesome.  However, it was equally dramatic ... not to mention, traumatic.

posted by Mademoiselle on March 30, 2006 at 9:57 AM | link to this | reply

I hope once you've recovered we get at least your version of what happened LOL

posted by Schatz on March 30, 2006 at 9:13 AM | link to this | reply

Oh!
well now I'm all curious - but get well soon and c'mon back.

posted by curator on March 30, 2006 at 8:55 AM | link to this | reply

Get well soon, M.P.O.
and remember, kids, blenders and nitroglycerin don't mix.

posted by AaronB on March 30, 2006 at 7:50 AM | link to this | reply

M.P.O.
I really hope you are exaggerating the extent of your injury!   If  not, at least you will have some gruesome posts to store up for our future horror.

Speedy recovery to you.

posted by steeler_fan on March 30, 2006 at 4:23 AM | link to this | reply

M.P.O. - i just drew a get well card for you but i

couldn't post it 'cause it was too big.  it was a picture of a girl holding a busted blender vase, blood dripping from a severed arm.  text - "oops!  hope you feel better soon."

enjoy those painkillers! (to a point!)

posted by fourcats on March 29, 2006 at 11:30 PM | link to this | reply

I don't quite know how to answer that, Devil's Advocate ...

However, I suspect you may have gotten the wrong idea.

Thanks for stopping by, anyway, though.

I sympathise with you but why a blender and not a vacuum cleaner?

I regularly find myself in the emergency room too.  I am mildly addicted to my vacuum cleaner.  I guess I fall for suckers.   Yes, boys do it better than girls, but machines take the cream everytime.  Never thought of using a blender, how did it feel?  I am guessing it was you rather than the blender that exploded.  Anyway, I must go off to my meeting now, Suckaholics Anonymous.
