I can't imagine why anyone would want to be tickled ...

I cannot stand it!  (Which is probably why it occurs so often.)

Thanks, M.P.O.,
Maybe it's not an enjoyable film, but from what you've told us about the milk duds and the tickling, sounds like  a pretty good "date" movie, anyway.  :)

It's a movie to take with several Tylenol, too, food4thought.

MPO...
Sounds like a movie to take with a grain of salt, or maybe several grains!

Actually, Blanche, I've always considered Jabba kinda cute.

The creature looked more like Jabba's "right hand man", Bib Fortuna ... the one who Luke fools using his Jedi mind tricks.

MPO,
Aliens projecting themselves into humans, giant maggot-like creature resembling Winston Churchill (or maybe Jaba the Hut?), thanks for the warning, I'll cross it off my list.

Different strokes for different folks, scriber ...
However, there are some films (like "Pulp Fiction") where the more movies you've seen (overall), the more you'll appreciate it.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 10:03 AM | link to this | reply

Well, therein lies the problem, FoF ...
you need to expand your family's animation horizons.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 9:59 AM | link to this | reply

Ice Age is a magnificent work of animation and humor...compared
to Dora the Explorer and Blues Clues!

I would never watch, or for sure pay to watch, a move with slither
in the title.  And I never really got the Pulp Fiction movie.  Never saw enough to list it in my top 100 or 1,000

posted by scriber on April 5, 2006 at 9:50 AM | link to this | reply

I should acknowledge that there's a second opinion on "Slither" ...

My boyfriend feels anyone who goes to see the movie, will get just what they're expecting.  And, in that sense, the film succeeds.

Oh, and he also believes the creatures (particularly the large one) are more like squid than slugs.  (Although, he's only basing that on the simple fact that they possess tentacles.)

He's such a moron.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 9:42 AM | link to this | reply

He gave away the ending of the movie, Gulliver ...

simply because he disagreed with it's (supposed) morality.  Even though the film itself makes no sweeping judgements.

"Pulp Fiction" was one of the three best movies of the 90's ... plus, personally speaking, one of my ten favorite films of all time.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 9:36 AM | link to this | reply

I didn't even care for the first "Ice Age", FoF ...

I found it to be second rate animation/storytelling.

Rent either (or both) of the Japanese films "Spirited Away" and "My Neighbor, Totoro".

Or, if you must experience CGI snow:  "The Polar Express".

Million Dollar Baby incident? I"m not familiar with that.

No, he is no longer a full time critic, but he has a nationally syndicated talk show that I enjoy.  He still does his own reviews of movies from time to time.  Like I said, I rarely agree with his "take" on a film.

btw...i hated Pulp Fiction.  LOL

posted by Captain_Gulliver on April 5, 2006 at 9:30 AM | link to this | reply

Michael Medved?!

He hasn't been a legitimate critic for, at least, a decade ... ever since he named "Pulp Fiction" the worst movie of 1994.

The "Million Dollar Baby" incident only confirmed his treason.

Yes, Mason, that's the more appropriate place to see it ...
on television.

Yeah, Nanaroo, I figured most people here ...
probably wouldn't be considering it.  However, sometimes people make rash decisions on the spur of the moment (if their initial choice is sold out).

MsVision ... what?!

I'm sorry.  I don't quite follow your comment.

All questions will be answered shortly, Cesium ...
when the full "blender story" is finally told.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 9:18 AM | link to this | reply

You'll be glad you missed this one, strat ...
Now, it might be worth renting ... because then you can always stop it.  But I wouldn't recommend anyone seeing it in the theater.  Go see "Thank You For Smoking" or "V for Vendetta" instead.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 9:17 AM | link to this | reply

Not sure I've ever heard that story, Ann ...
However, David Cronenberg's "The Fly" is an example of a sickening movie that (unlike "Slither") really works.

posted by Mademoiselle on April 5, 2006 at 9:15 AM | link to this | reply

Wow, go figure...
Thanks for the heads up! Or guts up, as it were...

Hehe we saw Ice Age II
It was cute...

posted by FactorFiction on April 5, 2006 at 9:12 AM | link to this | reply

I think Michael Medved gave it poor reviews as well...
But then again, I don't always agree with his reviews.  He hated Moulin Rouge, and I thought the film was brilliant.

thanks for the warning... I'll patiently wait for it to come to cable...

M.P.O.
don't worry... I wasn't even considering it!!!    But nice to know I am not missing anything... thanks

Cast? Really?
Is it actually broken or just immobilizing it to heal more quickly?

Congrats for being the winner in the Movie quiz.

Note to Self:

Go see "Slither" immediately.

Bring extra Milk Duds.

posted by myrrhage_ on April 5, 2006 at 2:22 AM | link to this | reply

Perhaps so, Thomas ...

Though I do apparently have a rather loud and unusual laugh (or so I've been told) which might be a tad distracting to those trying to focus on a movie.

Of course, I'm not sure how much concentration "Slither" really requires ... I mean, it's not exactly "Syriana".

The other people, giving the dirty looks, were jealous that you had someone to have fun with. They were stuck with slugs.

posted by ThomasFranklin on April 5, 2006 at 12:03 AM | link to this | reply

Or, a little older film: "The Funhouse" (1981).

posted by Mademoiselle on April 4, 2006 at 11:14 PM | link to this | reply

Do you mean the new version, mysteria?

Actually, it doesn't matter ... they're both dreadful.

If, however, you are interested in seeing a really terrific horror movie (in the "splatter" genre) rent either "May" or "The Relic".

posted by Mademoiselle on April 4, 2006 at 11:12 PM | link to this | reply

M.P.O.

What about "The Hills Have Eyes"?  I'm really not into movies but occassionally l like to get freaked the heck out...

Careful, Cesium ...

I bite.

Plus, now that it's in a cast, my hand is like a lethal weapon.
