That sucks about your cake.
Baking is tough for me. I've even messed up brownies from a box and pre-cut, pre-shaped cookies where all you have to do is plop them on the pan. I think the problem is that I get distracted too easily while waiting for things to cook. The timer goes off and I don't even acknowledge it because I'm in the middle of something else. OH well. I guess people will have to love me for my eternal optimism. I know, I'm in trouble.Take care MPO

I don't think she has to worry about that, Tanree ...
There won't be any grandchildren springing forth out of me, anyway.
Fortunately, my brother will undoubtedly pick up the slack by fathering, at least, ten (from ten different women). Twelve, if he's not careful.

MPO,
If you are going to be taking up
Chef Extraordinaire training, I highly recommend an investment in fire extinguishers. Maybe even a sprinkler system hanging from your ceiling. Check with your local fire station to see what type of extinguishers they recommend.

CHOCOLATE FRUITCAKE RECIPE
You will need: 1 cup butter
6 ounces chocolate
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup halved red cherries
1 cup halved green cherries
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1 1/2 cups walnuts or pecans
Instructions: 1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter and chocolate together over a low heat. Stir often.
2. Remove from heat,
3. Let stand for about 15 minutes.
4. Stir in sugar.
5. Begin adding eggs, one by one. Be sure to stir each egg thoroughly.
6. Blend in the flour and salt.
7. Add the fruits and nuts.
8. Pour mixture into 4 greased and floured 5 x 3 x 2-inch loaf pans.
9. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until you can stick a fork in it.
10. Cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes; remove from pans, and cool on wire racks.
Seal cakes in heavy-duty plastic wrap and chill thoroughly before cutting. Garnish with candied cherries, if desired.
Makes four loaves (which can be frozen).
