Actually, if it was a spider, it depends on the type of spider. Your reaction to it will be different with different types of spiders, Keep an eye on it.

Whacky
Ya know it could be a spider. I have a bite on my boob ( just above the tender part) and only spiders do that to me. Yes , it very well could be a bite. My son kills those things for a living and he told me it was spiders. little white ones of some type. I can't see the darn things so I don't know where they are.
Last year I got bit by a black snake. I didn't even know I had the bite. While sitting at my g/daughters b/day party, my leg itched....when I scratched it a whole fist of flesh came off. I thought that was a big spider bite and I told him. He said "Mom, that's no spider bite, looks like a 4 or 5 foot black snake and your feet had an untimely meeting." Now that sucker was so itchy for days and it took months for the fang punctures to go away!!
Keep an eye on it and if it swells, be sure to keep cold compress on it...you could be having a reaction to the bite...Good luck my friend!

If it were a spider, you would have had a different reaction. Are there pus pockets present? If so, it's probably ant bites.

Maybe you got into some poison oak or ivy...
You should get down to Walmart and buy one of those topical ointments for insect bites or poison ivy and see what works. Hope you didnt get bit by a brown spider or black widow. We have those here. They're poisonous.
Another thing you might try is Aveeno Colloidal Oatmeal soap and Calomine Lotion. The soap balances your skin's PH. The lotion stops itching.
