Whacky
Oh, yes. I used to kill them wholesale at our other house, but the yard was small. Now, I mow three acres and I don't have time to kill them. Weed-B-Gone does great on those dandelions. It has 2-4-D in it. It won't hurt your grass, but don't spray it if the temp is above 90 degrees F.

Whacky...
Just the usual championship dandelions. I also have knapweed, it makes dandelions look like a boy scout picnic.

Thanks for the enjoyable read
Creative comparisons Whacky.
Around here, poor lil' dandelions are enemy number one. Small fortunes every season are paid in effort and chemicals to kill them. But did you know in Alaska, cut dandelions are sold in flower shops. They grow so much bigger there - people buy bouquets of dandelions. (I just heard about this and think it so cool, lol.)
HAPPY EASTER!!

There are more than 2 dozen varieties of wild plants growing my natural sandy yard, including chives, wild roses, black-eyed Susans, daisies, tall beach grasses, and a bunch with odd names that I've identified with a wildflower guide. Oh...and dandelions! The greens are delicious. ...want some seeds?

Over here in my neck of the woods, lawns aren't cultivated in the same way we Americans like to do it. People are much more tolerant of weeds. I think they figure they're lucky if they have any patch of green to call their own, much less to nurture it and and spread herbicides all over it. The grass is very often broad and coarse, and weeds will grow... They do add a very nice touch by spreading seed in the grass for tiny little spring and summer flowers, about the size of clover, but looking more like delicate miniature daisies and other colorful gems. It'll bloom, get mowed, and bloom again. Very pretty.
