Everyone's in it for a different reason...
Sometimes its about writing and sometimes its about clearing your head so that you can get on with life...

Azur

The feeling that we haven't quite cut it with a post is actually a good feeling to experience as it prompts us to raise our bars another millimetre.  Similar to an A- student who really wanted an A+, or an athlete who wants to trim off another half-second.  Others are impressed by the performances, but the self-assessment will often assign a lower grade.

Morgan Freeman is one of my favorite actors. I haven't seen everything he's starred in, but I'm willing to watch anything he does. He could read pages from the Des Moines phone book and I'll sit mesmerized until he's done. Every role has not been Oscar worthy, but each one has been good enough to leave me entertained. I'm a fan. That's what being a fan is all about.

You are one of my favorite bloggers. I haven't read everything you've written, but I'm willing to read anything you write. Every post hasn't knocked my socks off, but each one has been good enough to leave me entertained. I'm a fan. That's what being a fan is all about.

It's because we are following you through the ecstacy and the agony

and we recognize it in ourselves. We want to give you our support however much you are feeling down, because that is what you have done for us and what we do in return.

It is writers supporting writers.

We know that you will fight through it in the same way that you have known that we would fight through it.

And also, maybe your core readers, your die-hards, are much widely cast than you know.

Thanks for visiting. I revised my thinking, however, since you visited.
Come back tomorrow, please.  It turns out to be legit.

Azur - I think you need to hire a new PR person. Your current agent seems..
... to be trashing you. - Hey, that's the beauty of blogging. Sometimes we produce gems and sometimes not. This is supposed to be a break for you from your professional writing, no? Get over your bad self and have some fun. People have gotten to taste your personality and read you as a person, not purely for your writing ability. IMHO
