Azur
I zeroed right in on the mention of the boys being distracted from their electronic narcotics (as I think of them) by some good old fashioned boyhood style activities.  More power to them.  I feel strangely encouraged

You may be mixing me up with people who care about where their blog is
on an hourly basis.
I was following on from _uncle_dave's Berlin leaves. He had  pictures of leaves outside the hotel I used to visit in Berlin.

Nah, people who know how to write
can be entertaining no matter what the subject material!   Although that's for misleading via your headline...

Azur, I'll remember that quoting principle by the way. I wouldn't have
reasoned it that way left to my own devices. I have no journalistic training, but have often wanted to interview people and try to sell the result. Must get I-pod. If I say it often enough, I'll remember.

The mountains! Sounds wonderful.
I am planning to take my kids this year, but we will see.  When my employment contract is up, I'd like to try something new.  I don't know what, but not writing. I'll be a late starter when it comes to writing. I am eating cheese right now.  Vermont Sharp Cheddar Cheese, crackers, and a Midori Colada.  I will be paying for this tommorrow if I eat the whole bar.  Take care

That sounds like a fair deal for both of you.

If someone is unsatisfied with that answer I won't quote them.  I need to be firm on that otherwise everyone is my master

Azur,

I've often wondered how a professional journalist would handle that particular situation: responding to an interview subject's query to review the article prior to publication, and I think your approach seems tactful but firm.  You reassured your subject that he would not sound uncouth but still did not give him permission to have input, because as you say (and I think that sounds logical), the editor is the person who has final say.  I hope that the architect was satisfied with the answer.

The rest of the day sounds sublime.  I hope you are recovering well.

What's a'matter you, anyhow?
dull blog, my you-know-what!  More like a slice a life on a writer's little canoe trip in her mind.  Give yourself a break!

Not dull, lovely. Insightful with the interview stuff and pastorally

smilesome with the countryside notes. Yesterday afternoon we met up with friends and their toddler at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and found a huge mulching mountain of leaves. The boys, one aged 20 months, two aged 40 years, loved it. The girls were nattering on a bench. The sculptures have changed - will maybe blog some photos and details later.

I must get an i-pod. Must.
