Thank you very much for the compliments, Spudnuts ...
However, as I said earlier: no harm, no foul.

I am really sorry, kiddo. I can be such a dork sometimes!
That's really rough. But I love that you have such an awesome ability to laugh at the bullshit life dumps on all of us! When you can do that it's so much easier to go on when junk happens! I love your writing! Really funny and so well written! I see you going very far in life! I look forward to reading future installments of your blog! Take care!

It's cool, SpudNuts ...

to avoid such faux pas in the future, however, perhaps I should provide this link at the end of all my posts:

Oooops, my bad. I thought you said dad, not uncle.

But my foot tastes really good with salt on it so I'm good!

Why you gotta be so mean to me????

Well, children change the whole equation.

Oh, I wish I could take afternoon naps...sigh...
something I fought like hell prior to having kids... now I TRIED to take a nap lying out on a towel in the yard today while the kids (theoretically) played...no dice...

Okay ... upon my return ...

I will be posting something that's, like, super good.

Not at all like my previous garbage.

That was a joke. Some people live life in a daze; hence the awake zombie. We'll see how many scenarios we can draw for that name. Thanks.

Zombies?

Btw, you can't seriously be choosing the name Jake Arbuckle for the snake?  It has no cache!

No offense to Scriber.

This reminds me of the dazed walking zombies. Its either too little or too much sleep. It takes time to find one's balance.

I had this really great post (imo) that I was going to put up last night,

regarding an incident in which I was nearly killed by a blender.

Unfortunately, I was prohibited from posting, because my eyes were so "googly" that I was unable to edit it properly.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 2:17 PM | link to this | reply

Kinda appropriate, I'd say.

Mademoiselle--- Sleep deprivation. Yeah, that's it. That's my story and I'm
sticking to it. Time for a nap.

posted by Jazwolf on May 3, 2006 at 2:06 PM | link to this | reply

I tend to fall asleep a lot, too ...
but, apparently, that's still not sufficient enough rest (required to recuperate one's mental faculties).

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 1:54 PM | link to this | reply

I'm laughing, Mademoiselle, because...
I used to make fun of my mother when she was in her eighties because every afternoon come rain, shine or company, she paddled off to her bedroom to take a nap.   I now know why she did it.   Here I am, not even seventy yet and I fall asleep in the recliner every afternoon come rain or shine.  LOL

You can imgaine, Jazwolf?

Kinda ironic, considering your most recent post.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 1:46 PM | link to this | reply

Mademoiselle--- Hmmm. I can imgaine. He. He.

posted by Jazwolf on May 3, 2006 at 1:39 PM | link to this | reply

At least your joke was a lot cleaner, Jazwolf, than ...
what my boyfriend said.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 1:17 PM | link to this | reply

Mademoiselle--- They won't mind, if you let them keep the eggs.
Sorry, about that. Couldn't resist. I tend toward feeling intoxicated when I don't get enough sleep. And it's cheaper than alcohol.

I don't know if it's apnea per se, Jason ...

but I do suspect it's a little more serious than some members of my family would have me believe.

After all, I've been sick (in one way or another) for quite some time now.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 10:33 AM | link to this | reply

Well, that might be a tad difficult, SpudNuts ...

seeing as my daddy's dead.

Oh, and I never go anywhere without my blankie.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 10:30 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you, brettnik ...
Although what I really need to master is the ability to write while napping.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 10:27 AM | link to this | reply

Yeah, I never understood the motivation to do so, Marshall ...
I slightly feel bad for those people ... except, of course, for the ones who are only doing it for financial gain.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 10:24 AM | link to this | reply

And 3 hour ones would be even better still, scriber.
I could really use it too.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 10:22 AM | link to this | reply

You could have sleep apnea.
I was tired all the time, and I took a sleeping exam, and was told I have sleep apnea.

posted by JasonScyte on May 3, 2006 at 8:56 AM | link to this | reply

Don't worry about the professors.
Just get a note from the shrink and daddy. That ought to cover it. And don't forget your pillow and blankie!

posted by Spudnuts on May 3, 2006 at 8:53 AM | link to this | reply

personally, i love afternoon napping. i don't get to do it often but if i
feel the need i know it's my body's way of saying it needs help and i always feel better after.  sweet dreams.

posted by fourcats on May 3, 2006 at 8:44 AM | link to this | reply

Good luck on that one! Napping is a skill I haven't mastered.

impersonators...
always piss me off...i hate ppl with no personality who need to be "someone else" and who fool other ppl....

I find two-hr naps are the best.

posted by scriber on May 3, 2006 at 5:08 AM | link to this | reply

Unfortunately, Ariala, at the present time ...
my options are pretty much limited to classes involving either painting or film making.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 4:59 AM | link to this | reply

I think I might be thin enough, Una. However ...
I could certainly use the immune deficiency boost, seeing as I'm constantly sick.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 4:56 AM | link to this | reply

I've never been a nap person either, Shelly ...
which is why the notion feels so foreign to me.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 4:53 AM | link to this | reply

I think it's a combination, Fiona ...
A little hard to explain, but I just don't seem to have the (mental) energy that I normally do.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 4:51 AM | link to this | reply

Geometry and History were always my classes of choice for those
much needed power naps.

posted by Ariala on May 3, 2006 at 3:59 AM | link to this | reply

Mademoiselle! Sleep deprivation can cause a lot of problems.
From what I read from Reader's Digest, getting more sleep could make you thinner, boost your memory, boost the immune system, slow down ageing and keep you on the straight and narrow. Let us and go to sleep.

posted by una01 on May 3, 2006 at 3:55 AM | link to this | reply

I can't take naps, they just make me feel worse.

posted by shelly_b on May 3, 2006 at 3:32 AM | link to this | reply

I'm sure your professors won't mind -
as long as you don't snore. Are you battling to fall asleep or do you just have to much to do?

posted by fionajean on May 3, 2006 at 1:34 AM | link to this | reply

Well, it's not quite that simple, Mason ...

After all, I'm a very busy girl.

I certainly need to get more rest, though.  The fatigue is starting to show in my work.

In fact, if I got my old job back tomorrow (film critic), I'd be back on coke by Friday.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 3, 2006 at 1:16 AM | link to this | reply

..sleep when you get tired... enough to sleep...

posted by MasonGarrett on May 3, 2006 at 1:00 AM | link to this | reply

Well, hopefully it will improve my overall performance level.
