Blanche
Thank you for that touching headline, Blanche, but you know very well that your 'stuff' is scintillating and very absorbing; it deserves to be in its present position - if not higher.

Yet another sign that popularity has no bearing on quality, JohnMcNab,
How that happened, I have no idea. I keep churning stuff out, though, and I do like to muck up the personal stuff, bleed onto the page and all. I guess, that attracts a certain type of predator.

I don't need to, Blanche. I'm not number 5 in the popularity stakes. Very few discerning people read my posts.

Yes, JohnMcNab,
Quick, write another 9 posts so it can all get buried.

I have that trouble as well, Blanche, but I blame the keyboard. As for my private life - if you notice, everything is skimmed over and you'd have a lot of trouble describing or identifying anything or anybody. I'll bet you thought I lived in Canada.

I can spell, JohnMcNab, it's typing I have trouble with.
Anyway, as for your humor blog becoming a journal, I hope I haven't stepped too far into your own personal den.

I know it is love, Blanche, but I am beginning to understand why Canadian men have their own 'dens.' They need somewhere where their conscience can't get to them. My conscience has its own nickname - Ell. As for Blogit? When I started on Blogit I was simply needing somewhere to write. The intention was to write humorous articles but now I realise that I write a journal of sorts and I'm not sure about that - but I think I've kept everything slightly impersonal.

JohnMcNab,
Ah, what love, Ell knows you so long, she calls you on all your b.s. Now, that is love. I find more and more creative "productive" ways to procrastinate myself: cook, clean, get up and dance, take walks. My own personal tush-kicker is out working today, and I am home polishing up some odd gems for a poetry reading tomorrow.
However, this is blogging at it's best: break or procrastination? You decide. Best of luck with your submission and take Ell's faith in your writing ability as a declaration of love.

Azur
Strangely enough, Azur, when the RD condensed book came in, I gave it to Ell to read first. Once upon a time that would never have happened, so I must think the same as her. She has just told me she has finished all four books and she was not enamoured of them. I can understand why you couldn't be bothered to read your friend's book. I canceled my RD magazine last year - after 30 odd years of having it delivered. It looks like the same thing is going to happen with the condensed books.

I second that, Taps. Thank goodness for Ell - and I say that a few times a day.

Ell's absolutely right about those Readers' Digest condensed books. I have a friend who was featured in RD once. She was in a life and death situation. She wrote a book about it. Trouble was, once I'd read the RD I couldn't be bothered to do more than dip into the book.
Now I'm meandering. Just dive in.

I absolutely loved reading this story .. You could submit this post and I'm sure it would encourage some of us who have self doubt about our writing to take the extra step ... buy the postage and send it off to be recognized and not remain on our desk.
I'm sure Ell knows that she has made you lighthearted
