I liked your 'hacksaw' comment, Azur, and it must have taken quite a wrench (no pun intended). I allowed my former life to rust half way through before taking a tire iron to the remainder.

In his case he has a particular gift which he is using to the full and that is a good thing. Only trouble is that to use that leaves no time for other things. I have more to give of my skills than opportunities at present

You have more "time" to use than he does, and it makes
all the world's difference. Which of you is the wiser one? It depends on your value system on time and money. You are a more adventurous soul.

We Must Live With Our Choice, Good or Bad
Best to you. I agree with another that we need a steady income and I would prefer the safety and security. Force would be the only way that I would leave money and comforts to venture into the unknown without guarantees. That is just me. Hope things get better for you soon!

We all make our own choices and the choice we make is rarely the same one someone else would make. I don't think there is a definite right choice or wrong choice (not including murder or theft or whatever) there is just our choice. Just believe in yourself.

"Sometimes I just want to mispell bloggers - it is such a silly word. And sometimes I like to put it in to annoy people who get annoyed about people who get annoyed about people who use the word blogger in headlines. It's all fun, or crap, or both."
Loved your blog, and bon courage for living your life. I just loved this kind of P.S. at the bottom, I feel like using the blogger word in EVERY headline now that I know some of the more marvelous writers hate it so much. LOL We are alike luv. Have a happy weekend.

Enjoyed your post...
My ordinary life ended 5 years ago and has been evolving and changing ever since. Some days I feel lost and confused....some days depressed. Some days it feels like I'll never have a 'normal' life again.
Maybe there's some higher purpose to the struggle and the changes. Good luck on your road.

It's nothing wrong in calling BLOGGER. A word with a bundle of meaning.

ceemarie53, can I tell you something?
a comment such as yours makes my day. I'll tell you why too. It encourages me to write in the way that I want to write. Thank you

thanks for prompting me to check out that book. A seed has been planted. I think that perhaps I could write about the two sides of this coin. If you think of my friend and me - it is such a common thing, how all the people who set out at the same time diverge. I am fortunate however in that I chose this life. Then again maybe it chose me as I could not see myself continuing as before.

Azur-
Thanks for stopping by and reading one of my posts today. Your writing is like quicksand; it pulls one in and there's no going back. (and I mean that in the most complimentary way!)

I apologize for the typo, it must be grating to an editor. I simply need
slow down, but I find that difficult to do.

Azur,
I just finished skimming through Barbara Ehrenreich's book, "Bait and Siwitch" on the pitfalls of being an educated white-collar professional in a downturning economy. I found it much more interesting than her "Nickeled and Dimed" about "pink-collar" workers, waitresses, etc, because I can relate so well.
I never foresaw that my life would go in the direction that it has, but I've lost a lot of my taste for the glamorous life and want what's real and tangible: a stalwart love and a simple home. Anything else is gravy. Best of wishes.

Whether it is the treadmill or chasing dreams, we still need a steady source of money to survive by.
