Uh, yep, that's pretty awkward. I don't know how I missed this one...

I would go with the screenplay (as per my background) ...
Not sure about it being a
comedy, though.

This is good material...I can see it taking off in various different directions...say a screenplay for a 1/2 hour comedy. Or maybe a tragic novel about how a man loves his child, but loses him because he can't keep his temper under control...only he's mainly breaking because of the stress of the custody battle, etc. Or what about a self-help book on anger management - or handling those akward situations. Or an in-depth article on how hard a divorce can be on a kid...
Well, you get the idea...

Sort of, Una ...
I've discovered a slight problem with using a tiny tape recorder smuggled in your purse. Namely, that the audio is largely
inaudible.

I thought that might be the case, MissJohn ...
However, if not, I just wanted to be sure you were aware of it.
Often times, people here seem afraid to mention typos ... which seems silly to me, because everybody makes them, so it's no big deal.

I write 'Licence' because that's the U.K. spelling of the word and that's the way I taught as a child. . The U.S. version is "License" which I don't care for, for some reason. Now that I live in the U.S. I've learned version of words that I prefer. I like the U.S. 'favorite' as opposed to the British 'favourite'. I prefer to cash a U.K. 'cheque' rather than cash a U.S. 'check'. Just preferences.

Gary needs help (part 2)
If that's the way Gary talks to his son, I'd bet he must have said horrible things to the wife and maybe that's why she left him. Gary couldn't have started talking like that to his son overnight, it could have been going on before the separation.
I hope the mother has better control of her temper and emotions and, if she wins custody, she and her new partner are good parents for the little boy.

As do I, missjohn ...
When I told my friends the story, they yelled at me for not reporting him immediately. But that seems a little extreme to me ... considering I don't really know all the facts.

My assumption, Rcky, is that his breakdown was caused by ...
an accumulation of stresses converging all at once. As opposed to any one particular thing. I mean, it certainly wasn't just about the
coaster.

Supposedly, Trevor, his behavior was way out of character, so ...
Meanwhile, I don't think it's too long (simply unto itself)
per se ... but, perhaps, just merely too long
for Blogit.

Don't go out with those guys anymore. Find guys who do fun stuff from now on...like Jazz Clubs, the beach, even a movie.

I didn't find it too long at all! Talk about awkward situation. Sounds like Gary is going through a difficult time. While I don't condone his behaviour, I certainly hope he finds solace for both his own and his son's sake!

At least, not in terms of sheer awkwardness, Talion ...
I generally have a strict "no scrolling" policy for my posts ... however, this one simply had too much dialogue in it to fit on a single screen.
To make up for this tactical error, my next post will consist of only two sentences.

There aren't many things worse than being a walk-on in someone else's melodrama. Oh, and as far as monstrous lengths go, this is nothing compared to what I've cranked out the past couple of days.

I know divorce is hard but surely you try to maintain a modicum of restraint. HAs this guy got any really close friends who could suggest councilling? The last thing he needs to do now is alientate people.

Which is odd, because we pretty much fight about everything.
It was just such a weird situation. The three of us ended up going to Dairy Queen, and kinda laughing the whole experience off.

Oh, and I apologize to everyone for the monstrous length ... however, it reads rather quickly (cause it's so dialogue-heavy).
Btw, further explanation of the process behind this "experimental entry", is in my previous post.
