I am related to people like that.
My eldest step-son stayed with us one summer. We helped him find a job, gave him room & board and allowed him to drive his half-brother's VW (my son was refusing to drive the car at the time; he was at a difficult age).
After the step-son burned up the engine in the VW, my husband allowed him to take MY car over to his girlfriend's house. He called the next day to let us know that all four tires were slashed by someone in the girlfriends' neighborhood. We found out later the only reason he was going out with her was that she was his supplier.
That's not all, but that's enough.
