- Go to The Impeachment of George W. Bush took a direct hit
What a leap of faith!!!!
A Republican carries (with less than 50 percent) a Republican stronghold in a military town and you guys feel confident enough to make 2008 pronogstications?????? The election speaks more to the power of the gerrymandered incumbent.

Lokman, you are correct. That was a stronghold of republican base. It did
not erode and the same inference might be extrapolated and generalized in 2008:
CA Congressional race of June 7 : Republicans losing faith :: 2008 national election : Republicans voting republican.

What's being left unsaid is that Congressional seat
is in a highly affluent suburban area of San Diego, a conservative city with major ties to the military industrial complex. I'm not sure if Republicans should really breathe easy just yet.

justi, I think either way a blogger wins. Conservative bloggers will have
a heyday if a democrat like Hillary is elected. We will score clicks for four years on her nonsense!

Corbin, I nearly referred to you in this posting. You have the right take
on '08. The nation is still reeling from 9-11, no matter how hard the dems have tried to smooth it over.
