Miss Maggie
You can NOT be old enough to have been getting out of the AF the year I was BORN! Thanks sweetie!

bel, I still want to salute the flag when I hear the Star Spangled Banner.
I've been out of the AF since 1965, but I still love it. I don't think you ever get it out of your blood. The song brings tears to my eyes and my heart wants to burst with pride. I love my country.
This was a nice post. You and Carl must be some cute couple.

in the end, I am so glad I was able to be there with Carl and see his reaction to all of it...so in the end, I expect it all worked out as it should. My little brother promised to make sure I have a helmet for next year!

I think I have come to the realization that there will always be things about us that react a bit differently than most. It is simply a part of who we are and what we have become. Thanks so much!

BrightIrish And Avant
I suspect the neighbors thought we were crazy, but then again they are used to our friends who have their yard in red, white and blue year round and usually full of soldiers at least once a month. I have to admit the last year changed me in many ways at another time I would have probably stopped for a moment taken in the music and gone on, but now, I FEEL that song among others.
Our daughter is probably one of the few 12 years who actually understand the protocol for parades, flags and such. After last year, I watched to many people not so much as acknowledge a flag when it went by and too often the older men and women of the crowd (I mean MUCH older) stand and put their hand over their heart. There is nothing like watching a man who would be older than my own Grandpa stand and the flag went by and see the tears slip down his cheek. These are sights that will never leave my mind and often remind me, there is a very costly price that many paid for that flag. I pray I will never again forget that lesson.

I enjoy reading your adventures. I grew up in military environment, and so I can really relate to snapping to attention. We lived on an Air Force Base when I was very young. I still remember standing with my hand over my heart when they played the anthem every day at 5 o'clock.

That is so sweet! Carl is a carpenter which means he spends his weekends doing extra work. Buck and Pam were the people I spent so much time with last year, so as for their remodel, Carl kind of sees it as thanking them for being there when I needed them.

Give Carl an extra hug for me today and tell him
That if I owned a big company, I'd definitely hire him to do whatever he felt like and pay him really good!

It was truly a very special day. These bikers are near and dear to my heart because our soldiers are so near and dear to them.
I am so very, very sorry about the loss of your cousin.

bel, it sounds like it was the perfect day! I wish I could have been
there...I don't really care for bikes, but I would have rode on one for my cousin Chris who was killed in March.
btw...I bless myself every time I see a cross...

I like that thought, Bel,
MG and I say that to each other a lot, that we're not perfect but we are perfect for each other (Okay, altogether now, AWWWWW).

Bel, ain't that the truth: I think the same thing
If all someone does is badmouth the one they supposedly love, then why are they still with that person? A meal ticket? Stuck? Whatever. LIfe's too short. I'm not perfect, neither is MG, my boyfriend, but we're a good pair. It sounds like you and Carl are a perfect pair.

As for the Bikers, Soldiers etc...
Makes me proud to be an American to see folks like Carl and you doing your best for all of us. I may not agree with the "leaders" who decided this war was a good idea, but I am 100% proud of all the patriot guys and gals who are risking so much. :)pat

Hiya:) you asked about the Juice Plus+ supplement --
I could tell you my story, and have mentioned it in a couple of blogs -- but the company has a website, which I think you can find through Google ... Use the plus sign after the words Juice Plus+ and you should be linked to all the info you could want. If this doesn't work, comment on my blog again, or email me, and I'll look up their 800 number for you... :) pat

I always find interesting when someone does nothing but run their significant other down. I am always left to wonder "WHY are you still with them?"
Carl has his faults, the man lives with both feet and one of mine in his mouth, he drags dirt across my clean floors, he leaves his socks laying around until I threaten to put them in a place he won't much like, etc.. but guess what? I have faults too. I get lost going in a straight line, I am as unorganized as any one human being can be and so on. We made a choice to LOVE one another, faults and all!

Bel,
It's just so refreshing to hear someone talk or write about how much they love someone rather than run them down.
