Lovely. . .
photograph of poppies and lovely writing. . ."the earth will be the hue of a lion’s pelt in the African noon."
I wrote this short poem a while back after seeing an extravagent display of California poppies in my corner of the world:
The wind blows Somewhere a poppy hikes up her skirt
