Those are certainly possible interpretations, Brettnik ...
Btw, both elements are also evident in his "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeois".
As is Bunuel's severe foot fetishism. Note the toenail clipping scene.

Well, I said it was in Spanish, HEARMENOW ... that implies subtitles.
Are you, by any chance, referring to the exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art?
Personally, I found a little of Dali goes along way. I love Bunuel's Un Chien Andalou (which Dali co-wrote), however. The Mae West lip sofa was pretty cool, too. I want one for my room.

How weird. We watched it. My husband, who went to film school
at NYU, believes he was told in school that it was the only way Bunuel could comment on Franco without getting arrested. The inertia of the upper crust which prevented them from acting against a bad ruler...who knows. At any rate, it was something to see. You know, to escape involves returning the the exact place one started. I wonder if that isn't the biggest metaphor in the film...back to your roots to move forward?

YEAH YIOU FORGOT TO MENTION IT WAS SUBTITLED
BUT I DID DVR IT -MY SON COULDN'T KEEP UP AND KEPT ASKING QUESTIONS AND THEN I SAID WE'LL HAVE TO WATCH SOMETHING ELSE WHILE I TAPE IT BECAUSE HE WAS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL.. AND THEN HE BEGGED ME TO PUT IT BACK BUT I WAS NOT IN THE MOOD TO BE ANNOYED--10 YR OLD BOYS CAN'T SHUT UP. BUT I DESCIBED THE MOVIE AS BEING "SURREAL" AND HE WAS INTERESTED BECAUSE LAST YEAR I TOOK HIM TO THE SALVADOR DALI EXHIBIT AND WE LOVED IT.

That review is incorrect ...
the police are unable to get them out. As is the military.
The latter part is accurate, however.

I read from somewhere that the survivors were forcibly removed from the house by the police. They attend a mass in church. The service ends. The doors open but.....
The review ended there. I guess those survivors were then trapped within the church now. So it doesn't end. Lol.
10 clicks are here. Thanks for paying attention to my blog.

Actually, Ann, you can probably get the jist simply by reading my spoiler.
No legit critic would go into too much detail, anyway. It's kinda like reviewing The Crying Game.

Well, as I noted, it is rentable, Factor.
And well worth the effort to locate a store that carries it.

I was wondering where you'd gone, but no, I don't like to pry, Mademoiselle
It seems you already have enough of that. I'll make a note of this for the Netflix queue: psychological horror, the way it's really supposed to done. Excellent.
