Sounds more like won't, scriber.

I would like to believe in ghosts...unfortunately, I can't.

But, Silly, you guys are all assuming it's a malevolent spirit.

However, what if it's like Casper?

Thanks for the tip, Citreena ...
Kinda like in "Poltergeist".

Well, Darrke, she always was a very straightforward woman.

Not yet, Ben ... but my brother and I are going to set up some video cameras tomorrow.

Be firm

Hi Mademoiselle

If it really is haunted, then be very firm with the spirt/energy and tell it "To Go. It is your home and it is not welcome"

I had a nasty energy in my house and as well as calling in my angels to protect me, I shouted at the energy that it wasn't welcome and to go. Not only did I feel it rush out, I also saw an angel orb who rushed around the room to protect me. So be very firm but make sure you have angels or whatever you believ in to protect you. Best wishes Jill Divine  www.divinelady.co.uk

Loved the last bit about your grandmother...LOL...guess she couldn't wait to start haunting you.

Have you actually seen anything?

The 3 clicks prize for your blogger guess is here. Congrats!

Mademoiselle, I believe you. I hate fruity tea myself.
I cannot stand hybiscus or lemon.  Awful stuff.

That was very clever, Azur ...
And thank you ... I appreciate your saying so.

Good to see you haunting these parts again
Seriously

Do you mean by you?

Seriously, you should post about your experiences.

Mademoiselle, every house I have ever lived in has been haunted – no joke – and ……. well…….I’m not going to tell you about the séances – again, no joke – I’m sure none of this surprises you. Now……the voices……..Samhain_Moon

Absolutely, Bel.
Of course, mine pales in comparison to my brother's.  You pretty much need to put on a Hazmat suit to enter his room.

LOLOL Mademoiselle!
the room is always the scariest part!!!!

The thing that bugs me about The Exorcist, Aaron ...

is that they edited the "spider walk down the stairs" out of the theatrical version.

It was the scariest part!

posted by Mademoiselle on June 16, 2006 at 8:30 AM | link to this | reply

That seems like sound advice, Bel.  However ...

I actually think I'd rather live with a ghost than clean my room.

posted by Mademoiselle on June 16, 2006 at 8:28 AM | link to this | reply

Maybe so, Ariala ...

Although, I think my days of setting things on fire are behind me.

At least, that's what the doctors say.

posted by Mademoiselle on June 16, 2006 at 8:24 AM | link to this | reply

That's interesting, Strat ...
I would have hoped a ghost might have more productive ways to spend his time.  Avenging his own death, for example ... or, maybe, teaching his former cheapskate business partner the true meaning of Christmas.

posted by Mademoiselle on June 16, 2006 at 8:22 AM | link to this | reply

Time to burn some sage and maybe even the house down.

Yes, Corbin, that's an image I would like to forget.

Yes, Original, for once I was actually relieved that my brother's such a dillhole.

Who's laughing it off,  Koukla?

We're actually considering bringing in an "expert".

posted by Mademoiselle on June 16, 2006 at 8:13 AM | link to this | reply

Thank you, Ben ... though, unfortunately, "An American Haunting" was a flop at the box office.

So, I doubt a sequel will be in the works.

My favorite ghost movie ever was "The Others" starring Nicole Kidman.

Actually, Cesium, it was more of an act of desperation/"last resort" type of thing.

More Ovaltine, please
Don't forget "The Exorcist":  using Ouija boards can lead to projectile-vomiting and head-spinning.

OK don't laugh at me
But given I have worked with alot of people who deal with the "other world" here is a suggestion.  Clean the house top to bottom (everything cupboards, drawers, etc...) bring in extra help such as family whomever and get this done.  Then go to a local "New Age" store and get a white sage bundles, ask the person behind the counter how to cleanse a house with this, it's very, very easy.   They may have other suggestions but this is the most common.  Does it work?  My home has never been haunted but what can it hurt?

posted by bel_1965 on June 16, 2006 at 5:59 AM | link to this | reply

It's all good. I've lived in a haunted house for years.
About all the apparition does is flash women.

Every 150 year old house needs a 19th century perv rattling chains in the attic. Sort of adds to its historic charm.

That sounds really scary
There are many documented cases of hauntings.  I would not just laugh off something like that.

posted by Koukla on June 16, 2006 at 3:38 AM | link to this | reply

I don't know much about hauntings. If you document your case, you might write or make "An American Haunting Part 2" Lol.

Its good to read your misadventures again.

er,
At which point we decide to bring out the Ouija board
Was this supposed to be a solution to your problem?

So you were able to read it, Una?

Cause when I checked it just now, it looked weird.

At any rate, thank you for the compliment.

And, I'm just about ready to panic over the missing objects/spooky voices.

Okay, there was a slight problem with the html (cause I'm a retard) ...

but it's now been corrected.  I hope.

Fortunately, I can't imagine too many people were awake to read it, anyway.

Mademoiselle, I have to say I really like your English.
I can learn much from it. By the way, things disappearing in the house sounds pretty scary. Some people won't be sure if they have just had a ghost experience unless there are mysterious disappearances of something.
