Whacky, I hate that the fires are near the GC, my favorite camping place.
They could use a little rsin over there.  Lovely to see you again.  My guess on the salt box:  the word pours.  The salt pours out of the box, like rain.  So whenever it rains, we'll be reminded to buy salt.  Very astute these Madison Ave. guys!  Maybe it's subliminal.  The meaning is so obscure that only our subconscious can pick it up/  LOL

A few grains of rice in a salt shaker, keeps salt from caking.

Whacky, Salt has a natural tendency to absorb humidity which causes it to cake. By adding an anti-caking agent, Morton® developed a salt that would be free running even in damp weather. The little girl with the umbrella and her slogan "When It Rains It Pours" were created to promote the new product in a national consumer advertising campaign in.   My mother would buy no other kind.  LOL   Even with the anti-caking agent, in extreme moisture, salt can still cake.

No rain...
But it has been hovering in the 90s for a week, a little early for us.  I think Bright Irish is right, the salt has something to keep it from becoming a solid.

Yes. Exactly why is that the slogan???
Salt can be used to melt ice, but it does nothing for rain!

I don't know why that slogan is on the salt,
except salt is supposed to pour isn't it?

We have sayings on our sugar packets in Irish, here's a one I like, 'it's for it's own good that a cat purrs'.

I know, nothing to do with sugar.

Catch you tomorrow.

We've had our share of pounding downpours here in Detroit,
but at least we don't get mudslides, just mud. I love it, my garden grows like gangbusters in this kind of an on-and-off-showering summer.

That picture is scary! We've had so much rain that the birdseed that fell on my outdoor rug sprouted into little plants that resemble corn. I'm thinking you have ' Morton Salt' with the umbrella. They are advertising that the humidity will not cause the salt to harden together, thus " When It Rains It Pours." or shakes or whatever salt can do.. PostSmile!

I've thought about why that might be before. I guess it's from the way the salt looks as it comes out. Who knows.

We've had 6.5 inches of rain since last Friday.

You always sound so industrious. It would have been nerve-wracking to be driving beside that water channel

Stay safe indoors while storms hit. I don't know why the slogan is there.
