Marie-Claire, the ocean has always been an inspiration and a comfort to me,
I find myself now
on a strange shore
some time now has passed
since I landed here
gasping and shaken
grateful for breath
since the shipwreck tossed me
into the sea
struggling, finally too exhausted
to swim
lost all hope
then the currents carried me here
across this ocean
the past is far, far away
