Yep, everyone had to have a joanna, I guess it was a status symbol.

Now, back in England, during the Industrial Revolution, the poorest of the poor factory workers fel impelled to wear a aht, like more prosperous folk, so they used to make a small square one from paper.

Humans are strange, aren't they?

It never occured to me
that even the poor seemed to have piano's.  In this day and age a piano is a luxary and a quite expensive one at that.  My great grandparents who also had 7 children had a piano.

thanks for calling in.

I think we all come to regret not listening to family stories. So many other pressing/scary/fascinating/whatever things to interest children more than parents yakkin'

Lucky you Ariel - deciding when to be born.
The links/keywords are a great idea by the way. Putting it all in colour, what a good storyteller you are!

Looking forward to you being born, in the following post hee, hee!

1920s
My grandfather was born in 1919 and my grandmother in 1924. They both died in the 2000s and had seen so much over the years. I wish I'd asked them more about times past.
