Yep, everyone had to have a joanna, I guess it was a status symbol.
Now, back in England, during the Industrial Revolution, the poorest of the poor factory workers fel impelled to wear a aht, like more prosperous folk, so they used to make a small square one from paper.
Humans are strange, aren't they?

It never occured to me
that even the poor seemed to have piano's. In this day and age a piano is a luxary and a quite expensive one at that. My great grandparents who also had 7 children had a piano.

1920s
My grandfather was born in 1919 and my grandmother in 1924. They both died in the 2000s and had seen so much over the years. I wish I'd asked them more about times past.
