You are so correct there. The Democrats have done the African-Americans pretty bad in this country. They don't think so, but the blacks would get a fairer shake with the Republicans.

The Democratic party was also responsible
for "Bull" Conner and George Wallace; I don't think any findings of abuse in Chicago would be enough to significantly change the black vote. There seems to be too much of a perception, true or not, that Democrats "care more" than Republicans. It doesn't matter that their "caring" has horrible results.

(I had inadvertantly stuck this into your wrong post)
! One little thing about Landis, though: he does have a bum hip (bum hip? Okay, I'll rephrase that: he has a diseased and hence not fully functioning hip, which apparently keeps him in almost constant pain, and according to a lengthy article on the guy and his hip, he's planning to get it replaced after the Tour), so I for one am willing to cut him some slack, and he really is a hip kinda guy...
