Justi that's a great idea.
The people so opposed to war can go help fight or shut up. Hmmmm, wonder which they'll chose!

That was refreshing. It is nice to see such beautiful thoughts in the midst of such a bitter battle where many people are divided in their beliefs and values. I'm almost too disgusted to open anymore blogs that are dealing with this issue, much less comment. Thanks for sharing. I hope more people read this.

Jane's
Such an absurd statement. I do not want a false cease fire, but I do not know any one nor can I imagine anyone being excited about the violence. Perhaps those would want to volunteer to help get it finished.

Thank you, dear Taps. Perhaps I will send it on.
The article mentions that he has a blog; at the very least I may be able to leave a comment!
Have a great week.

JanesOpinion, I have not seen anyone, nor can I imagine anyone, excited by the violence in the Middle East. Your post is such a great rebuttal to such a comment. I hope that you will send it as a comment or email to this pastor that you linked.

R_I, thanks for your comments.
I was very upset with myself the other day. I awakened early (0420 AM -- very rare for me), could not get back to sleep and the thought crossed my mind that I should pray . . . but I did not. Talk about feeling chastised by that. Was there someone out there who specifically needed prayer, and did not receive it? I don't know. But it was a very good lesson for me. Perhaps, if I'd prayed instead of tossing and turning and thinking other thoughts, I might have gone back to sleep. Or not. But at the very least I would have been following Jesus' commands to "pray for the peace of Jerusalem."
Anyway, thanks for your comments!

Amen, Offbeats, Amen.
So why borrow trouble from the future? But continue to pray for peace.

I have been hearing about the end of times since I was a little girl. Now I just think it will happen when God wants it to...and no one knows that schedule...

PassionFlower, I agree.
And from what I have read, many others believe the two concepts (praying for peace, and the end times) are equivalent.
Thanks for stopping by!

Praying for peace over there might equal praying
For the end of time to come...because that will be the only True Peace in Jerusalem.

Even an atheist like me must admire and respect you voice ; which is that of true Christianity. Long and clearly may it be heard, and it is always nice to read the words of a fellow advocate of peace, moderation and reason.
Thank you for making my Sunday more worthwhile.
