eah the punch line... powerful but sad, I am not trying to exploit someone
anyone misfortune, for good effect, I just wanted to express the powerful emotions that go with such chocking news.

this a true story, when the woman told me that, I was gobsmacked!
did not know what to say but felt so sad. I nearly yelled out, don't give up on life! I wanted to tell her to keep on fighting but I did not. I felt so inadequate and so helpless.

How macabre! You did a good job of putting that into words. Didn't see
that ending coming. Made me swallow a couple times.

How sad
I have a similar life experience - friend of mine finally resigning herself that her car was not needed (cancer). I found the crispness of your "story" added to the sad reality.

I wrote this long ago. Well, I only recounted the facts and I was not sure
I should post it....

Sad, true to life, and well done. Thanks, cancer happens just like that
and poetry comes to the rescue, just like that. Alelujah
