SOPHISTIE
I have great compassion for Mel Gibson because 38 years ago I was a mel Gibson type alcoholic.
We are all human with that great capacity to make ourselves right with God and the world.

I say what I mean and mean what I say
I hate the excuse of alcohol etc... I do not go out of my way to offend people but I also will not beat around hte bush. If they don't like it, I can't help that.

I agree....100%!!!
I don't "think" of Mel Gibson. I don't do much news as it is often devistating. So another human being got drunk and spewed a bunch of crap. Normal occurancy if you ask me. It's just that he's famous enough for this to be displayed publicly.

Actually, I was more disappointed by his lame apology, than by his hateful drunken tirade.
I think he just should have said, "Look, I hate the Jews, okay? So what's the big deal?" and then, like, tried to quickly change the subject.
I'll be the first to admit that my idea of God is pretty different.
I believe in a God with a long white beard, a gold crown, and a long robe with lots of shiny jewels on it.
He sits on a big throne in the clouds, and He's about five hundred feet tall.
He talks in a real deep voice like "I...AM...GOD!" He can blow up stuff just by looking at it.
This is my own, personal idea of God.
