RkyMtnActivist,
I couldn't agree with you more. I was just making the statement that they, too, have a right to express their opinions and that it is too bad that often when they do, it can be harmful and hurtful.

I am agree Rame, but some of these people go about using their freedom
of speech by name calling or writing inflammatory posts, and some clearly state their bigotry. All I am saying is that this kind of behavior goes totally against what a christian stands for. They are the right-wing christians and they make it bad for the rest.

RkyMtnActivist,
Yes, I have noticed but we all have a right to express our opinions. It just bothers me that sometimes it can be so harmful. Thanks for the comment.

Ariel70,
Thanks for reading and the comment. To me, though you call yourself an atheist, you seem a lot more Christian than a number of "Christians" I know and the "love your neighbor" quote is a basic part of Christianity. You are a good man, Ariel70, and a friend indeed.

Just adhere at all times to the guiding principle of my atheistic life ... " Love thy neighbour as thyself." What more does one need to live a good, virtuous life?

Exactly!
It seems as if some Christians have only one thing on their minds that can be summed up as follows:
"I want to do and say things in this 'true Christian' sort of way that will reserve my place in Heaven--and to hell with the rest of the world!"
We need to have a place in our hearts for the other inhabitants of the third rock from the sun, just as Jesus always has!
Blessings!

RAME,
The Father searches hearts. He looks for love and trust in Him. He takes care of you all but the soul who prays with filial love touches God in such a way that that prayer can move mountains. What a beautiful, important and oh so true statement.

Love is the propellent force behind prayer, as you said. So many are concerned with having and not being, that the strongest component behind their prayers are self-serving and impotent.
