And
don't worry, we closed her into a guest room, and put some newspapers down before we left.

It was actually pretty good, Bandana, my sweet ...
I'm not a fan of that sort of thing in general, though. It all seems so stagy and fake, somehow.
Particularly, the stage, and all the fake palm trees.

If I ended up preparing the dinner, Ann, the poison control center would need to be notified to be on stand-by.
Meanwhile, I know my mother brought it up, but, quite frankly, I'm not sure whether the invitation was accepted, or not. I'll have to ask her; she actually seemed to be able to follow what they were saying.

Well, TAPS, there are far less healthy addictions, I suppose ...
such as, say, faberge egg collecting. (You'd be surprised how that can really get out of hand.)
Anyways, thank you so much for the compliment.

Actually, BlackPearl, the cake survived ... sort of.
It just looked really messed up. They appeared to put it in the freezer (for some reason), and then it was never heard from again, so ...

Did your mother return a dinner invitation for them? Then you could execute your sweet vengeance by cooking up a mysterious dish. Provided of course Mom approves.

Mademoiselle,
I've had some Middle-Eastern dishes, but nothing too adventurous. It was okay. I have to be careful, though, since I'm no fan of really spicy dishes, and from what I understand, many Middle-Eastern dishes can be super spicy. Sorry you dropped the cake. Maybe you could have had a few extra slices to fill up on. :)

Probably not, Talion ...
Although, one curious thing I've noticed, is that Chinese food pretty much always tastes exactly the same, regardless of the restaurant.

I love Chinese most of all too. Not too keen on Thai, however. I tried two different local restaurants, but considering I'm in Memphis, I doubt this is the alpha and omega of the cuisine.

My mother is quite adept with the chopsticks, too, Talion.
Meanwhile, I'm able to pick up, dip, and eat sweet & sour pork using only my toes.
P.S. As I'm sure you're aware, there are huge discrepancies within Asian cuisine. Thus, I love Chinese ... hate all the rest.

I love Asian food. I eat with chopsticks and everything. I even have my own set. If you think the guy in the poolhall with his own stick is a badass, imagine the reaction to the guy in the Asian restaurant with his own chopsticks. I even learned there's a difference between Chinese and Japanese chopsticks.

I like baba ganouj, tabouleh and felafels, Mademoiselle,
I wouldn't want to make a steady diet of them, but the eggplant dip, bulgar wheat salad and deep fried garbanzo bean flour cakes aren't bad. I'd be more worried that they seemed a little anxious for you to meet their son. An arranged marriage, maybe?
Selma Hayek's made big bucks off her mono-brow, especially as Freda Kahlo.

And, they dance.
Also, I've noticed that in the earliest episodes, the fat characters (Elmer, Porky, etc) are not merely portly, but actually morbidly obese. I wonder why?
