nice poem. Made me think of all the stories my grandma told me.

thanks Jazwolf and Jen
I feel I have let her down so many times. she must shudder at the dumb things I do. She loved me more than my own mother, in fact the only person whom i felt truly loved me for who I was, the closest to unconditional love I received as a child. She deserves this tribute. Grandma, forgive me....

Marie-Claire--- Very good. I especially liked the last verse. Hope that
you're feeling better soon. Be kind to yourself.

I can't tell you...
how many times my grandma's views and commentary on the world has resonated in my head since her passing. I believe I think more about her now--in death--than I thought about her when she was alive. Very bittersweet; melancholy.

well sort of, she is on the other side now, very happy I am sure.
I like to speak about her in the present tense though.

I hope your Grandma is well--my one surviving grandparent lost her memory
but then again, she's 96 years old---outlived several of her children, including my Dad.

the advice was wasted because we were young and thought we knew better,
now I can look back and give the very same advice to young people!

Maybe those words of wisdom aren't really wasted
They tend to resonate later in life (and sometimes we even find ourselves reciting the very same orations to our kids). I seem to be out of sync with when people post and read (I’m an early riser) so if you feel so inclined, I invite you to read my morning poem - Link to: Finding You, Finding Me

Nice tribute!
Do you remember her words of wisdom now? I remember saving $10 of dimes with her to pay my uncle for the first bike he gave me. They were at odds at that. I was his favorite niece but Grandma would have no favorites, so we were going to pay for my gift. I have a feeling he refused the $10 of dimes, but I remember the fun earning them doing this or that over the next few months. She was a story-teller which my mother took up in writing. I am carrying on the tradition.
