Oh, Justi, this really frosts me.  You are so right in everything you printed.  Rush Limbaugh knows his stuff.

Take care, dear lady, and keep the world informed.

Blanche thank you for your encouragement. It is a shame. But you
Know God knows there will always be waring between good and evil. We have to be above it and depend on him. Do our best to walk in his paths and let him work it to his finish. Romans 8:28 All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. Hard to remember sometimes. You be blessed little one.

Actually, I should say "as Jesus said, and was quoted by Matthew".

Justi, I am happy for him and for you
I know it's not over, but as Matthew said "There will be wars and there will be rumors of wars, see that you be not disturbed for all these things must come to pass".  I am still sad and angry that this has to happen, for everybody: the soldiers, the soldiers' families, the Iraqi people who suffered the results.  It's a tragic shame.

My stepson is stateside now. He is older too. We went up one weekend to NC and spent time with him there so you could get a better sense of where, what and how it was. But Iraq is a whole different thing. I see lots of families ruined during and after the stint in Iraq. That is the price those people have paid so that we have not had one serious incident here in the US, since 9/11. That is not because they have given up on us, not one bit. I don't know how all this will end but God surely does. Thank God.

Justi, 82nd Airborne is my boyfriend's old unit
He was a paratrooper. I am grateful to God that M is too old and has a bad knee, or he might be recalled back there. My heart goes out to you and to every wife and family member who is waiting anxiously for their husband, wife, or family member to come home safely.  God be with them all.

I, too am no fan of Rush. I believe it was the job of administrations since Viet Nam to do right by the Military. The veterans have been given the shaft for years. This administration is not doing it's due nor has any before it since Korean War. The families of those willing fighters need never go hungry. Nor do I resent the money for the 9/11. I resent the congress that keeps grabbing every penny they can from the people who put them there, both parties. Their greatest activity is working toward being reelected. My step son is a paratrooper too 82nd Airborn. Scary business.

Thank you for this. It is so true. I am so proud of those who serve giving me the priviliges I enjoy. I do think the whole of the country should support them, their families and do what we can to make life better.

Justi, you probably already know I'm not a big fan of rush, but in the

category of "even a broken clock is right twice a day", I'd say he has a point.  I'd just say that I wouldn't want to be in either situation.  I don't begrudge the families of the 9/11 victims their money, it can't begin to compensate them for the horror they've experienced and they are not to blame for the soldiers receiving so little, so it's a little like comparing apples and oranges.

My boyfrined is a veteran, an Army infantry and paratrooper, who is very sad to see the way the soldiers are not getting their due, that military families benefits are being cut. I'd say that it's not the 9/11 families who are getting too much, it's unfair that the soldiers who went into this war to try to vindicate 9/11 and defend the US got sold a bill of goods all the way around.  It's time the Admiiistration did the right thing and kept to their contract, and at the very least, made sure the veterans of this war don't have to worry about coming home to debt, medical issues and no housing.  It's a crying shame.  No other country I know of treats its veterans this disgracefully.

Advice for those who want to make this better ...

from the proud wife of a military man -- just say thanks!

Of course the money issue is terrible, but anyone who looks at the enlisted military pay scale can see we don't do this for the money in the first place.  Consider how many of the American military are currently living under the poverty level or living in base housing that is substandard!  My husband serves in the US Armed Forces and our children and I support him because it is a privilege and an honor to serve our country in this manner.  Not everyone can and not everyone should.

Whether you agree with the President or the Iraqi war or any other Department of Defense policy, ALL WE ASK is that every once in awhile you appreciate the sacrifice we willingly make on your behalf.

I am glad you saw this. I missed yours on it, but there needs to be an angry out cry to our congressmen to care for our vetrans. I saw it all after Nam and again we are not taking care of them. Their families do not get enough. While we give money to wealthy countries in the Middle East we let our military families go without bread.... A shame. I'm not a Rush Limbaugh fan I believe this is a real wake up call to all of us who have been missing it before.

That is my feeling exactly. I have never copied, posted nor agreed with much of his stuff. This is a shame.

I generally find Rush obnoxious

But I actually wrote an article on this topic a couple of years back.  My heart breaks for all who have lost loved ones in these tragedies, but I would like to know why my husband's life is only woth $6000 when he willingly walks into danger and others are worth hundreds of thousands.

I have learned to accept that things are usually different for the troops than anyone else, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with that principal.

I generally don't like Rush
however, that is sickening,  Tragic of course for the victims of 9/11 but every day we have more victims of tragedy overseas.  Sad.

Hi, Justi,
Rush Limbaugh gets a lot of flack, but he makes some really good points, sometimes.  This is one of those times. "I'm entitled" may yet be the catch phrase of the new millennium.
