It's tough. How much do you do before you erasing history anyway?
If you restore these old wooden buildings, you might actually have to build new ones. Things were meant to change and renew I suppose. Pictures will have to do.

A little bit of history repeating
Your pictures remind me of two situations, ne good, one bad. The good is the tiny old airbase in Colorado Springs wher i grew up that was slated for destruction and was turned into an Olympic Training Center. The bad, is the many old mudbrick houses that sit around out here crumbling into the ground when they represent easily a hundred, and in some cases as many as four hundred years of history. Most of them seem to be on private land, and the families don't destroy them, but they don't repair them either.

They still have a mess hall standing that would be great to restore
and use as a restaurant. Set it up like something from the 40's and serve meals. I think it would be a hit.
