this is great! but you don't do your poem justice with this funny layout
if you don't mind me saying so. You are spoiling it with these pararagraph, why not lay it all out like a proper poem. Your poem deserves better!

This is a very thoughtful, empathic poem....
...I often think how aweful it would be to have a son in a war and about how many parents must have suffered all that worry and heartache. I am glad neither my sons or son's in law would ever join the forces unless they had to.
